I would say Dark Bloom is entirely sane, but unlike regular Bloom she's confident, assertive, has maximum sass, and has wholly embraced being pure evil. (while she can still feel love, she also enjoys being callous and cruel to her enemies, and enjoys the act of harming and killing them) She after all enjoyed killing her old headmistress, and the dark power it granted her 🙂

Bloom's dark side had so much story potential; especially had it been used to play a deciding role in S2, such as Bloom using her body to absorb Lord Darkar's Shadow Fire; technically giving Bloom immense power, albeit something she has to keep balanced with her Dragon Fire, while the dark side of her [that's become only empowered by these events as the face of the dark power within] wants the opposite. Would've been a fun feature to S3, with Valtor tempting her because he knows she's still struggling to find balance, and could be coaxed into darkness.
