Going based on the sirens saying even Poseidon fears Scylla, it makes me wonder if Jorge is going for the sea nympth turned monster interpretation or immortal monster born to a monster family interpretation. Because if it's the latter, it would make sense why Od had to sacrifice his men. Because how do you fight something that big when it can't be killed? If only he kept some of the sirens as sacrifices though, then maybe they could've used them; assuming Scylla eats sirens as well.

I heard that the reasons the sirens wouldn’t have worked is bc Scylla doesn’t eat other creatures, just humans

@@emerson4140when I (and my kiddo) was involved in a discussion about this under a different animatic, a few other commenters brought up some really good points… 1. The sirens may have started to rot by the time they rowed from the sirens’ lair to Scylla’s. 2. Even if the caught sirens had stayed “fresh” enough, that may have worked for the first sacrifice, then Scylla would have either gone back to hunting the humans on the ship or wrecking the ship, because Scylla was only known to eat humans. I love how epic brings out so many interesting takes and discussions about mythology😊

Oh she looks horrifying at 0:02, and the way the heads come up as shadows under the water and surround the ship is sooo menacing and perfect, especially as the music kicks up

I've been stressed out with my final exams before the end of the school year and I studied so much for biology, I thought the ship on the thumbnail was a chloroplast...I'm so sorry! 😂 Her design is so pretty! And I'm in love with how she emerges from under the ship. The animatic looks really cool!
