If you're a good enough player you eventually get to learn to handle the ships by yourself without help from stats, meaning you'll soon get used to it and pilot the Icaras without any worries. Or just pilot-assist it all the way if that seems to hard.

@DilboBaggens they did release Wipeout 64 for N64 exclusively. Additionally the Playstation-based Wipeout and Wipeout 2097/XL got PC and Saturn ports (I have a video of the PC version of Wipeout on my user page). After that, all games in the series were released for Sony hardware (Playstation, PS2, PS3 and PSP). Just for clarity, although i'm not too fond of the soundtrack, Wipeout HD is the best game in the series (with Fusion the worst).

@Mugenloo I think you fail to realise that a PS3 is a computer whose components are calibrated and designed to offer higher performance per buck. The PS3 is over 3 years old now, and it is still competitive against modern computer components. There is no advantage that a PC offers over a PS3 in the gaming department. And only fools use Windows out of choice.

@Mugenloo Just because you're incompetent in the joystick department doesn't mean that PCs are better. As the saying goes "A bad workmen blames his tools". The reasons that PCs suck, is because you have to run so much software below the game. Windows is bulky, slow, unreliable and et cetera, which is is the problem. It's a perfectly valid reason, you complain about IO, so why can't I complain about software?

@1337ASM I absolutely love my PS3, but it just pales in comparison to proper mouse and keyboard support, running a game across three 1080 monitors, choice of games and most of all the performance. Sure, bang for buck you're not going to get the best deal on a capable PC, but that wasn't my argument.
