Yes! I look forward to your videos every single day. I’ve been going through some seasonal depression really bad lately and crochet is helping me keep my head above water. I have 2 boys, grandsons & great-grandsons that love to do stuff. My grandma always told me, "That's our job, pass the creating on!" My sons, years ago made their weird shorts & one son made his wife a long warm bathrobe with her favorite Jeff Gordon fabric... I was amazed 👏

A retreat is an amazing experience. The embroidery guild I used to belong to used to have them every couple of years. We'd rent a historic lodge on an island on Salmon River in Montana. There were bedrooms with showers, all meals and snacks were prepared and served on site, and we had use of the water bikes, jet skis, and boat rides to view the mountainsides. We all took our crocheting, knitting, and cross stitch to work on for the entire weekend. I was able to make 4 of them and was privileged to do so.❤❤❤❤

Working on soap sacks for the S.A.C.K organization, soap sacks for homeless shelters. Really quick projects to help out, and using it as an opportunity to learn new stitches or practice old ones. Lots of fun! ❤

Fiona, that's awesome. I make soap sacks for a local food bank, which designates that they go to homeless clients only. Just please be careful with the cotton, it can really dry the heck out of your skin. Stay super-hydrated and use lots of good quality hand cream. Have a great day. 🐞

I do that with the you-tubes I watch late at night. That's how I practice some awfully pretty crochet stitches(those ones I know use way too much thinking and almost as much yarn and I will probably never make anything bigger). Crocheting hugs for others seems to help me forget the worries of the world. I have box filled with hats, if your group can use them. A church here turned their sign out front into shelving in a cabinet where people can take whatever they need. (And we can share items for them) For past 2 winters we have put hats, gloves, plus peanut butter or cheese crackers in the hats. Sad to see so many disappear so fast, but it's so fun to have our mail-lady tell that she saw a needy noggin covered🩵🧶🪄🙏🤭🧣🧤 so glad you help... ty24 💞Caring💕

Ok. LOVING all the rainbows!!! 🌈 Also LOVE the Apache Tears!! GORGEOUS I have made several Apache’s through the years and it never disappoints! Also you could put a two row black border around each rainbow and/or add three or so border rows to the final blanket. That will add size but keep those rainbows shining! But, of course, you know that Juan. Wink. I’m totally vibing with getting to work on my WIPs with you. Thanks Friend.

Juan… I always have one or two project on my big queen size bed. I know that when I wake up, and I’m having my morning coffee, I want to be able to listen to a yarn, chat, and work on one of my projects. I am getting a roll cart, to put in the living room next to my couch, on the end with the chase lounge, so that I can keep everything well organized, and not worry about tripping over baskets. That was the idea of an occupational therapist, who came to visit me. She gave me a couple of good suggestions, and said that I did not need any more of her services.

I know that yellow, purple, blue and green look really good together. I get happy over the simple things. The garter stitch and stockinette stitch when you knit flat is opposite from when you knit in the round.

I had 51 squares . I put boarders on. Had to frog all border. Then because I didn't know how I was going finish it Since I kept crocheting better I end up now redoing all the squares. They were wonky and ugly. Now I'm happy. I see a light at the end!!!!😊

I can't hardly ever feel anything I work with. The thicker the yarn the better. But due to my disability. I can't feel anything unless it is pain. Tucking tails is a job but I love it. Because even tho I don't feel my needle I still make the best tails. You can't track them down . Lol I can't track them down myself without getting frustrated lol.

Totally agree with you on Gary Urban Yarns. He is the color king. It's like he makes magic with yarn. He's amazing. I love the fact that we are getting more male crochers. I love to make granny squares - I just don't like joining them. I heard about an organization that accepts 8x8 squares with a 20" tail and they make blankets for kids in Africa. So that has been added to my donation list. My work system was down all day so I was paid for getting caught up on you tube and boggy creek blanket #5. I tried the dot hooks but didn't like the feel of them. A retreat sounds awesome! Somewhere in the middle of the country. Enjoyed the yarn chat!

i just did the chain two and pull for your life knot on my final granny row and literally said WOW . yes ! ty ! i think knots are soooo underated i love that you explain them . half my older wearables i made are shredded bc of not knowing knots

Hello Juan. Yes I get excited about my projects!!!!!!!. That is the best part of crocheting. I get excited about buying yarn too!!! and Yes...I do smaller projects in between my large ones just to get a sense of accomplishment. I just finished a crochet bedspread made with the fine cotton yarn used for doilies it took me 5 years. It is huge. Anyway had alot of smaller projects in between. This is my first time to view your channel and it will not be the last.

I like to have a project that I can pick up for relief also….at the moment it’s a beautiful pastel coloured baby planked….i love to go to it because I’ve done a few cream, not a lover of white, baby blankets that I have to keep my mind on the job, I love them (they’re for my great grandchildren that are still the twinkle in my grandboys eyes) but gosh we all need colour in our crochet lives. The only problem is I have to be strict with myself and only work on them for a short time….granny squares would be better 😅. Love having you, and a number of other gals and guys, as my crochet buddies.

I love wipn it with Juan. I too am making granny squares. I am using RH granny squares in soft white frigid. I do a solid granny square. It's not perfect, but unique. I will be making a blanket.

Still working on my 12 inch granny squares, Ben and super saver parrot stripes and as in black. At first I was just going to do a big 40 x 40 granny square but I decided to go with the big squares because I liked how different each one looked. There will always be one round of bright blue in each queer but the rest of it will be different because I am using parrots stripes. Great fun for me. I will be joining them with the black yarn using the method that you taught us. I do love how easy and fast it is. Thanks again. Sandy from Cincinnati.

On the subject of retreat. I follow several sewing and oil painting channels as well, and they have retreats. 1 sewing to Paris and a few stateside and the painting lady has 4 a year. Italy, Oregon, Florida, and Ohio I think, so yes that would be so much fun. Eating, yarn shopping, and meeting new friends.

What if your black border on each square is about 1 or 1.5 inches to get you from 7 inch to 9 inch or 10 inch squares to join. You would have more between squares but add a bit of size. Then do a rainbow border (wide) for the whole blanket and finish with black as the last round. So your blanket is bigger but you used the 60 squares you intended. Each Grannie would be really framed. Just a thought.
