Thanks for suggesting the video. I'll see what I can do soon. In the meantime a pair of round nose pliers, needle nose (flat nose) pliers and cutters are necessary. Great to start with 20 gauge wire. I like the Artistic Copper tarnish resistant wire, but you can practice with craft wire. My preferred beads are seed beads, 4mm, 6mm, 8mm round beads (I love Miracle Beads). Hi Andrea. I used Artistic Wire from Beadalon which is tarnish resistant due to a protective coating. I wouldn't recommend wearing it in the pool or against your skin if you have acidic skin. I have never had problems with it myself. For sensitive skin you can use sterling or Argentium silver. Good luck.

It depends on the wire. The brass is stronger than the copper. You can always try 18 gauge, but your piece will end up being larger. There is also half hard silver wire which is stiffer.

I used an 18 gauge wire but if i pulled it it would come apart too easily. Does yours do this or is it okay? i didn’t use a copper wire so that might be why. are yours very sturdy? Mine just stretches and goes flat as soon as it’s tugged

Copper wire can be quite soft. I also use tarnish resistant brass. Keep in mind the names can be fragile due to the nature of the design.
