@@brettcameratraveler That would be cool, but very hard to make with our current technology. Because you would have to measure inputs, the closest thing we have to that is a multi-directional tredmil that isn't mass produced, and mapping your movements is hard enough on that. Not necessarily. The tunnel in NC started a program for a membership program $500/month which gave you either the potential for 5 minutes a day or 30 minutes per week. So you share your time with someone else and it goes to potentially hours per week. Other places have adopted this. Also most if not all the kids in this sport have parents in the industry. So I’m guessing that her time is greatly reduced or free because of sponsorships.

You don’t have to be that rich. The cost for pro flyers is not that high, it usually about 800 usd for an hour without coaching. But you use it 15 minute chunks, so you can train 15 minutes per week and it will cost you 800 usd per month. Remember, she does it for 10 years now and at this point she probably doesn’t spend any money as she can be sponsored or coach herself.

@@zconsci I've done it and there's a springy bottom sort of like a trampoline but sturdier and fewer/thicker wires. It doesn't hurt to hit it. And for the ceiling, you can't hit it because of the way the air flow system works-after the glass ends it disperses more towards the sides so even if you go up super fast you will automatically lose lift after you pass that point. And to what zeu said, there was an instructor to guide the first flights. He let me go and I did occasionally bump the sides but there was no slamming because you use your arms and legs to push back. All in all, super fun experience-if you have the money!

I realize this comment is a year old but... you should give real skydiving a shot! There are skydiving centers all over that offer tandem jumps for around $200-$250, and it's well worth it to try at least once. You'll be harnessed to an experienced skydiving instructor who will do pretty much everything, so you can just enjoy the thrill of your life on the way down!

I hope Sydney does try sky diving! I have a fear of heights, too. I started sky diving as a teen ager. I have jumped over 50 times. I still do it occasionally. Sky diving is a very surreal feeling. Not connected to the sky, not connected to the ground. Very freeing feeling. Love it!

Indoor skydiving is what I think a form of skydiving(which it certainly is-) for people who get nauseous easily, scared of heights, or faint easily. Both certainly look fun but I believe that indoor skydiving is more where you don’t have to worry about parachutes, and doing flips but the actual skydiving is where you can fly through the sky or clouds, in all I think both are pretty fun.

I'm not sure why there is any harsh judgement for or against what she is doing. I don't personally know her or the income level of her parents. She had an opportunity to pursue a very uncommon discipline and she has excelled at it. By looking at her body, flexibility, and grace it is clear that she has worked hard to be able to compete at the highest levels. We should always encourage people to pursue their dreams.

Why is this comment section so negative?!! Yeah this costs a lot of money and most people (me included) probably won't ever do it (except if it gets cheaper) but I don't get the bitterness in the comments... This girl does a lot of training and exercise in and outside of a wind tunnel to get better and I can't imagine that all that many people would be able to show that dedication So I think she should be commended for that even though her parents have more money than most of us...
