In general, the TI units are faster in response to inputs. This is seen when quickly switching between sonar, downscan, chart, and split screens kzbin.infoUgkxeAxH15LxhjGlg5-CRYqjTGTEH0tbY4vk recommend The Hook units will show some lag on button pushes and screen switching. The big ticket item though is maps. If you install a mapping card such as Navionics or the free C-Map Genesis which has a lot of map detail, then moving around the map with the cursor or when running down the lake can lag significantly on the Hook units, but is seamless with the TI units.

Thanks. A few things I've picked up. The +/- on the right side of the screen will adjust forward range without having to go to the menu. You can also swipe down from top of the screen to adjust gain without having to go into the menu. Last thing I did was auto hide the bottom menu to create more screen space. Swipe up to access it.

Thank you for all your helpful information. I have fished using an old Jon boat for 40 years. I recently was able to buy a new boat and I have the garmin live scope. Probably a stupid question but, since the live scope is mounted on my trolling motor, how do I know where the image actually is? Is it shooting a beam directly down? Or, does it depend on where the trolling motor is pointed? Or is the image looking forward? I know these are crazy questions but, I’m old and this technology is all new to me. Thank You.

I am from Quebec Canada.The species we fish is the speckled trout, the characteristic of this one is that it is held in less than 30 feet.The main technique to catch it is by trolling with a spoon followed by a hook with a worm. Of course it is quite rare with my Humminbird Mega Live G2N Si to distinguish these specimens even with the traditional sounder because as soon as one approaches them the shadow of the boat makes them flee immediately.In these circumstances if I acquire a Garmin GPSMAP 1222 with Panoptix Livescope System Touchscreen Chartplotter an investment of 4310 $ Canadian that can give me a certain advantage in the capture of this trout

Many thanks for the GREAT videos. I really enjoy them. I don't currently own a Garmin Live Scope but am looking at a lot of videos trying to get a better understanding of how they work. From what I have seen they really look like the cats meow. (1) In this video when you are watching the live scope and see your bait drifting toward the fish and it reaches the targeted fish on the screen does that put the bait (closely) in line with the fish both (depth) and (distance) wise? i.e depth 17 ft and distance of 20 ft. (2) It appears that the live scope screens are not that easy to see in the sunlight due to the glare factor. At the age of 74 my eyesight is not the best and I need all the help I can get viewing the screen. Why don't you guys fabricate some type of sun shade/hood over the unit to give it a little bit better visibility? (3) I notice that a (few) of the guys using live scope are using pedestals to raise the head units off the floor of the boat via a telescoping pole for closer viewing of the screen. What are the pros and cons of either keeping the head unit low near the floor instead of raising it up on a pedestal? Any input you could supply of these questions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, John

Tell us a bit about the pole mount you are using. I’m planning to get Livescope but I havent figured the mounting yet. Ultimately I want a be able to rotate 360 using a eletronic remot as well as deploying remote. (Basically what you can do with a trollingmotor today). I found a local company (Z-bait) and it looks like they have a remote to deploy the transducer and fold it out of the water - but rotation is still manual.
@jemfinch74203 жыл бұрын
There are not many options for live scope. You can mount on troller if it is a scissor mount. I have a motor guide xi5 , unable to mount on troller because of how it retracts. I am using a 1 1/4 inch aluminum pole on a concoction of Scotty mount and claw. It is all manual and not very stable. Am currently designing an aluminum plate that will mount on my track with tube welded on top to slide in. There is an outfit from Australia has a decent design, but expensive

The reason braid can be seen is because there are air bubbles in the strands of fiber when first used. After staying in one place using the same rod with that line, you'll see a degradation of line visibility as water replaces the air bubbles within the braid. When moving to another spot, with line out of water, the braid begins to dry out so air bubbles reappear and the line can be seen more easily at your next stop. Then the cycle begins anew.
