I have the 60v 5a version that i managed to pick up from Amazon for $18 a year ago, and i love it! It is very reliable, simple to program and pretty much covers all my needs. Thanks for the review on these larger ones, Paul. I would never need that much power but....I WANT ONE! lol! Thanks!

That's one beefy buck converter! Personally I haven't had need for a wirelessly controlled power supply either, but it's nice to see there is an affordable product for those who do need one.

Thanks for the video. Would love to see more about this product. I could use this to control solar panels. Maybe a stupid question. If I input 60v 10amp. Woul it be possible to output higher amp? Amp up?

5:10 doesn't matter, as the voltage drop along the shunts will be the same. I think, they're in parallel to get one third of the shunt resistance and to split the heat dissipation.

I built a PS using a retired (because of age) 48V - 16Amp computer server PS. Mount the whole work under the bench and used the wireless module on top of the bench. Saved space.

That wifi module might be either an NRF24L01 or an ESP8266 module which is smaller in size. I've been wanting to know how to do bidirectional communication on those (To send multiple data back and forth from both transceivers)

its got that cool color display that you find on most PSU's these days, easy to read and full if all the info you want to see at the same time... cool little devise!!! very handy looking thing to have in you tool bag!!!!

That one wireless control can be used to control up to 30 power units. That makes the wireless useful.

Coukd be used for solar. Grid tied inverter from a battery bank. 24v bat bank to a GTI input of lets say 40-50 volts.😊

That’s a pretty cool looking unit. I could see using the ttl to usb connection for monitoring power fluctuations during experiments. The wireless seems cool but I’m not sure how I would use it. The big buck converter could be useful if you are charging a power wall with solar panels. I like it but there are other things I need before something like this. Nice to have when it’s free though. Hope you get to feeling better soon Paul, I’ve had a bug kicking my ass for the last two weeks so I know how you feel.

It looks like a CNC spindle controller (which would be pretty neat and safe to have a wireless controller)

It could be interesting to see if you can turn it on/off by wireless/RS232, the sw for the RS232 could be interesting too, maybe the protocol is fully open source, then I can see some useful things to use it for, but wireless remote "just because you can" give no sense.

I can't think of a reason for using this functionality (agree with your statement) but awesome review as always!

I was scratching both my heads and asking why this is as I couldn't think of a reason for it. I am sure this exists for a reason but what could that be?

Should hook up a fluke current meter to see how accurate it is. Not sure why it needs to be wireless either unless you needed bench space and wall mount your positive and negative hookups

Would like one just as a PSU . The Wireless aspect ? Guess if I was doing some weird experiment with RF or Laser it may be handy ?

I don't suppose you ever had a chance to test the efficiency of the output vs input voltage? The Juntek listing claims 92% - it would be really good to know if you supply is with (for example) 60v how many volts it can supply after conversion.

The downside about these buck converter power supply units is that it's difficult to find an input power supply capable of providing sufficient voltage and amperage to take full advantage of their capability. They are dirt cheap, yes that's true, but the input supply that they require to reach maximal output voltage and amperage can be far more expensive than the unit itself. What did you use to provide the 80 Volt input needed for fulll range? Given that you only show its performance at five volts tells me that you don't actually have a primary supply that can deliver the top end that it's capable of supplying.

Amazon sells a 1200W 60v 20A AC/DC psu for $85 so not too bad. I agree not 75v that these can take, but close.

Prefer the traditional power supply built-in controls. The remote could be usefull if the main board power supply is mounted on the roof near solar panels and you want to monitor via radio the voltages, current, power, to avoid going up. Thanks for the review and hope for good recovery

I think you nailed it. Solar installations make the most sense. The only other thing I could think of would be driving a motor controller directly off the buck, but, those can be wireless, can't they?

@@cheyannei5983 If it is a DC motor it is fine. Are you refering to Wind power motors? They could be three phase and rectified.

Wow, it would Be awesome to have one of these, I use the supply's for my battery charger when I need power, it's not going to be long before I have to find other options, i killed most of them, I also have a old computer supply, it's about 20 years old, maybe older, it may be from the old 96- 98 year model I had, haha it's old, very old by computer years!! Hope you get well soon, this weather is going to have us all sick, it's like a cool summer day here in NC, I can't belive it's do warm! When my house burned a few years ago this time of year, the water was freezing !!

If it was Waterproof you could use it to power a motor of some kind outside. Or a pump. The wireless control needs a timer unit and some fansy programs to make it use full.
