I have to convert over to this system. I have 10 Kidde smoke and 3 CO detectors that are hard wired with a data line. The Kidde system has been nothing but a huge headache from day one. The first few months the system was in there were countless false alarms. I contacted Kidde and they sent me 6 replacement smoke detectors do to a recall of the model i have. Next I had 2 CO detectors fail and where replaced by Kidde. We had one activation about a year ago at 3 AM detecting fire. There was no fire but I could not get the system to reset. I had to call the fire department at 3 AM to come and help me stop the system from screaming all night. Kidde is a huge name in the fire detection and suppression game but for some strange reason they cant seem to get there shit together for the home owner.

Damn, truly got a Kidde crying 'Fire!' over there. Does your city require hard wiring? That's a lot of alarms. If it was me switching over, I'd probably try reusing the data lines because programming 10-13 alarms for interconnect would be quite a bit of work. Maybe these?
