The primary points are to show how you can broadcast audio from one speaker to a remote speaker, and then from that remote speaker to additional remote speakers. Also discussed are some of the features and benefits of the Sennheiser systems, and overcoming objections/challenges to using them such as sonic fidelity, delay, work ethic, and AC power options.

I live in Oregon and was asked to do a show (Wedding ceremony and reception) in Idaho. I was asked to have speakers in multiple areas. Having this system was the only way to fly. We had multiple people speaking, singing, background music, and dancing, and the sound was incredible. I’ve used this system for years and I wouldn’t go anywhere without it. If you don’t need it that’s great but when you do need it and you don’t have it then you have problems.

As a professional sound engineer / videographer in Chicago, I started doing this with my Sennheiser wireless camera systems, 12 years ago. I've also done it with my old Shure U4D wireless systems. (Systems that I retired from handheld / lav service, since buying a fleet of Sennheiser systems) I never had a problem with them, while doing this. I've also done this with 12 powered speakers, at a golf course, without any issues, and with total success. Luckily for me, each of the speaker's designated areas, had a power outlet close by. (Within 50 feet)

Jose, What cables are you using? I have tried to do this with my current system EW 100 ENG G3-A and am getting feedback in the main system It might be my settings as well, Thanks.

Been doing this for YEARS - first with my trusty Samsons, and now with a bag of Sennheisers that I've collected, and I can't overstate how useful these techniques are. One thing to point out that I don't think Rick mentions. Antenna height is an important variable. He's got the radios up on top of the speakers - Perfect! When they are down low, bodies can act as a shield, and things go badly as soon as guests arrive. (Still would rather see a dedicated ceremony system. Picky, picky!)

There were AC power outlets located close to each of the zones on the property. Power is rarely the issue when doing a wireless broadcast (think remote speaker at the far end of a hall...finding power is usually the easy part), it's the audio cable that is often times the most difficult part. It's not easy to run XLR cables across a river, across a grassy area covered by 200 people, or through walls, ceilings or floors.

Thank you for this video. It answered many of my questions. And for the people asking how to power the speakers, in venues such as these, there usually are multiple electrical outlets near the gazebos, you will still need some electrical extension cords.

A lot of people are asking about power for remote locations. I don't know what they're using here, but I have a solution that works really well. I use a Duracell Powerpack Pro 1300. It's a very good portable battery pack with 2 AC outlets. You just charge it overnight and it will run a single speaker for at least 4 or 5 hours. It's perfect for a separate ceremony location and cocktail hour. Depending on the size of your speakers and the amount of power they consume, you could possibly get it to run for your entire reception also, but that might be pushing it. You'll get a slight hum from through the speaker from the battery, but you'll never notice it if you're playing music, or even if you're just using it for ceremony mic audio. I do a lot of beach weddings and this has been a Godsend. It's just under $200 and it's available on Amazon. Check it out. You won't be disappointed. If agigprodj can provide a better solution that gets rid of the hum I'm all ears also. I'm always looking to improve the quality of my product. You can also check out the Roland BA330 speaker which has its own battery power internally through AA batteries. It'll run for 8 hours on its own. The speaker is $600 new but it's also a great option.

This speaker wouldn't be very good unfortunately. I have another one like it that I got rid of because it caused too much feedback. I'm using my EV ZLX12P speakers for the ceremony now after I upgraded to the 15's for primary use. They're a little heavy but they produce amazing sound and almost never have feedback issues

The hum is coming from the fact that you're using a modified sine wave (aka square wave) inverter which essentially is subjecting the amplifier to a lot of harmonics and even brief overvoltages 120 times a second. It might look like an AC outlet but you need a pure sine wave inverter in order to have something that approximates wall power.

Thank you for the final part of the video proving no delay - that sold me to go wireless!! I've seen others say it, but you proved it in your video. Now, I am a complete noob when it comes to going wireless, so I be watching your other videos to learn how to setup this wireless starting from my amp. All the videos I have seen so far start at the speaker. But, I really need to get educated from the sound source and then work my way out.

love the setup and I do understand that finding power where you speaker is located is easier than running audio cable. My question is what about the weather? are these transmitters and receivers that you sit on top of the speakers weather proof? With outdoor setups rain can come anytime !

Very impressive. I would not DJ a ceremony at such a great distance but that is my own preference. I like to be there next to the speaker as I play the selected ceremony songs. I enjoy the new Alto bluetooth wireless for Ceremonies and Cocktails. It offers two independent inputs as well as the wireless input for iPad and/or iPhone along with a wireless out to another Alto Speaker. I am lost a bit on Microphone systems between digital or standard UHF. Testing out AKG's Dual DM70 system.

Awesome!! I'm a mobile DJ and am always looking for a better, faster, higher quality set up because I do everything myself. I was wondering if you've ever hooked the transmitters directly to the mixer XLR output channels for total wireless? I have a total of (8) powered speakers. (4) Tops and (4) Bottoms. I would like to run the (1) transmitter directly from my mixer XLR (Right) to a receiver on my sub bottom and then from my (Right) top to another transmitter to a second right sub and top. Then the same for the (Left) XLR from the mixer, for a total of (8) speakers (2) tops and bottoms right and (2) tops and (2) bottoms left. A total of (2) transmitters on the mixer XLR outs for stereo. (2) receivers on 1st right and left stack in and (2) transmitters on the first right and left stack outs and then (2) receivers on the second stack in.. Hope that wasn't too confusing.. But would this set up work? It completely eliminates all XLR cables.. Thanks

Great point. I'm looking into purchasing something I noticed in an office I worked at. It's a power pack that works up to 10 hours. They're meant to keep you from losing data in the event of a power loss. At least that's why they had it. But apparently they work for camping or wherever you need a power source. But I've noticed that typically if a venue offers an area to setup for entertainment the provide power in that area as well. That seems to be a standard. I actually have a line about that in my contract. I'm just getting the extra power source in case I'm ask to perform at a major remote location. Yes I over think ahead of everything. Lol.

Hey Rick! I run all QSC K series and use the Senn G3's as well since I've watched all your videos over the years. Thank you for that! I can't find my cheat sheet on the recommended settings. After playing around a bit before a wedding a few weeks back, I just couldn't get the settings dialed in just right in time. Although, I had it right a month before. I know you need to tweak it in.... but what is your approximate baseline to start for the following: Receiver AF Out: Receiver Squelch: and... do you leave the Pilot Tone on Transmitter Sensitivity: Also, on the QSC mixer, you have the button selected to Mic yes? Hopefully I hear back from you on this Brother. Again, thank you for your time and for posting all the vids over the years. The use of your knowledge and technology has definitely made it easier for me over the years. Cheers! DJ GUNZ Key West, Florida

I use a wireless guitar unit to send music to speakers without wires... The draw back is that it's mono.... I only use them for cocktail hours or for outside wedding ceremonies. You can get a wireless guitar system for about 60-bucks... It doesn't even have to be UHF.... VHF works fine too.

Although the Sennhesier wireless system may transmit frequency's down to 25hz, the QSC K8 speaker will only reproduce down to 61Hz. Using K8's, you'll definitely want to add an active sub such as the KSUB or K181. Otherwise, great portable wireless rig you've got there my friend.

Are the Shark Fins are only to receive the signal from Wireless Mic and not for Transmission of the Music?
@agiprodj
@agiprodj 2 жыл бұрын
That is correct.. In this example the fins are only used for sending the wireless mic signal back to the system.

@@agiprodj could Shark Fins be used to send the Music Audio from the 8inch Speaker to all of the other outdoor Speakers rather than having transmitters on each Speaker?

Can you provide links to what actual products you used of the sennheisers and cables? I have gone through your links on your websites and it still really isn't that clear. There are multiple G, A, 100, and 500 systems and it isn't clear to me which ones are what. I know 100's don't have phantom and 500's do... is that needed in this application or no? You see what I mean? I just need a complete break down if you don't mind. I need to get this sort of setup asap. Thank you.
