This year, I switched from a generic wireless mic to a Rode wireless go 2 mic and the difference is clear. Perfect for both indoor and outdoor shots. Though it is expensive it is worth every penny. With some tweaks in the post or editing, be it on mobile or PC, one can get a better sound quality. Nice comparison there, Heen. Initially, i thought it was AI. 😂 Keep the good work up, Rode.

Great content. I have a question that i need your help to answer: If i use the Lavalier II with the Rode pro or I use it straight away towards my iphone, am i gonna get the same result in an ideal situation? or the record coming from the Lavalier II that connected to the Rode pro will better better than that connected to my iphone?

Great questions! 1) Yes and Yes 2) This is something our team do regularly for shooting mobile content and have not had any issues. If you are concerned, we have a new accessory coming VERY soon, which will make this mounting even easier. 3) Yes this will be totally fine, your only concern should be a longer distances body blocking can affect the signal, but over this range this shouldn't be a huge risk (you can always do a sound test with your back turned to test this). 4) Unfortunately not, as there is no onboard recording feature. If this is something you need, we would recommend the Wireless PRO which will make this process easier.

Using the Røde VideoMic Go 2 on most of my videos on my channel, esp. the talking head parts, and the price to quality ratio is *really* good! Still trying to figure out a good compressor/eq-«template» for my voice in DaVinci Resolve though, since my recording setup is the same (distance/room noise/etc) for most talking parts a template should work fine with small adjustments from time to time. Couldn’t afford the Wireless Pro’s for my more «moving around the workshop»-segments though, and didn’t really need 2 mics, so went with the dji mic 2 small package for that, but not totally happy with the audio quality on the built in mics when clip’ed to the chest. From examples I’ve heard in other videos the Wireless Pro’s do sound more bright and present right out of the box, even without a lavalier, so we’ll just have to see what the future brings in terms of upgrades :) Also: the blooper segment was gold, all videos should have that :D

I switched from shotgun to wireless lav mics several years ago and never went back. Shotgun mics still picked up way too much ambient background noise.

Definitely workflow dependent, but Wireless mics are probably the most versatile!

Heen is just outstanding! Beautiful, likeable, funny... 😅 But, either a proper make-up artist needs to be used, or, provide specialty make-up suited for the purposes of digital camera filming under intense lights, in order to avoid skin shine. Keep up the good work! You are awesome dear Heen.

Definitivamente para mi el inalámbrico es mucho más versatil, los de escopeta solo los monto en cámara para registrar el sonido y después sicronizar con el las otras tomas.

Most of the times I use Wireless PRO with lavalier microphones. Sometimes with NTG Video mic. Rarely only transmitter mic.

Combine the Wireless mic and shotgun mic. Bring the combo as close as possible to the subject. Shotgun mics up close work really well.
