All the other reviews that I have found for this phone were presented from the geeky perspective of someone who is used to more expensive phones. If I could afford a Samsung S2 or an iPhone 4 I would hardly be searching for a review on the Galaxy Ace in the first place. This review tells me the things that I actually wanted to know! This is the best review i've ever seen for any kind of phone! I was very disappointed when i heard that it doesn't support flash...i guess that's not the point for KZbin videos. I just pulled my galaxy S out of it box after about eight years of not using it, and the battery was still partly charged and I was able to boot it... I had forgotten what a good LITTLE entry level phone this was - especially for 2012... I use a fairly new iPhone SE2... and if you think the screen is small on the SE2, your memories will be revived when you fire up the Galaxy Ace... All in all for a 10-year-old phone, that was free from my provider for another two years sign on, a pretty good little phone and it has Wi-Fi so it can still be used to sit outside and browse the Internet if you so desire.

I've had this phone for about 3 years now and it does lag sometime and randomly turns off and sometimes takes ages to load up an app (i.e. youtube, camera etc) especially if you're in a rush. Some games apps don't work properly but some do, so I guess that cancels each other out. I will say this thou, this is the BEST PHONE EVER if you have butter-fingers. The amount of times I've dropped this on hard floors, like marble/ceramic tiles, wooden floors, grass, the road (none of the drops were on purpose btw) is unreal, I must have dropped it about a billion times and the only thing that has happened so far is that a little bit of the chrome paintwork has chipped THAT'S ALL, the screen hasn't cracked and everything still works. The micro SD card it comes with only has a memory of 2GB, which is filled up VERY easily. The camera is also quite good in well-lit areas but there isn't much you can do to your photos without downloading apps to add effects. I would recommend this phone because it is very cheap and you do get the essentials and it's quite small so it'll stay comfortably in your pocket and be ready for its use :)

The BajanCanadian yes, I would recommend it but you can't download certain apps like snapchat or instagram because the system can't handle that intense level of memory usage but on the whole, I really like it and I still use it, it's going to be around 4 years since I've had it :)

A great phone for the price. I've had for 2 years, love it. Good camera, swype text, gods screen etc. no iplayer so no flash player.

Just got this. Upgraded from the galaxy nexus much better all around. Samsung entry level phones are all very good. Really pleased with this phone.

Old version is S5830 and the new version has the i at the end of that. The other two ace phones are Ace plus which has a 1GHz cpu and the ace 2 which uses an 800MHz dual core cpu. I would just say though the revised ace still has no official android 4.0 ICS support so might be a consideration if you're buying one.

When I bought my wifes new ace the updated hardware wasn't mentioned I didn't know untill I was getting it untill I saw the box which has labels on it stating the improvements. Basicly just ask to see the boxed handset before you buy it and check for the documentation. Inside the box the phone also has a huge sticker on the screen listing the cpu speed, so check for the 833MHz.

Nice review! I'm thinking to buy this Ace, but in a lot of forums i have read that it has a problem with the battery...so...what can u tell me about battery? Just wondering how well the Ace renders Google Maps and how quickly it is able to find your location? I tried scanning the comments for the answer, but couldn't track it down (sorry if it's already been asked!) Side note, fantastic review. I'm not a a smart person when it comes to phones. All my mates have these latest blackberry and Iphones etc. All I have is a LG viewty snap. Which I'm happy with. However, now that it is old, very slow and the camera has stopped working, I'm looking for a new one. This seems like the product for me. It has a nice design, smooth and quick. Also affordable :)

How much of a problem is it having that much memory, for example how many pictures or videos could it store is it directly comparable to computer memory or does the resolution change the relative amount of data you can store. also does not having flash mean you can't play any games or videos other than youtube?

My ace came with Froyo 2.2 but updated fairly quickly to 2.3. Also if anyone is gunna buy the ace make sure you get the newer version, as the hardware has been slightly updated to a 833MHz cpu and 290MB or ram. the model number is S5830i

I bought mine in white 2 days ago. Great phone! There is Google Play in the phone which has truck loads of apps that are free and paid which is practically just like the app store for apple products. I'd rate it 8-10 because of course, Its not an Iphone 5/ Samsung galaxy note :D
