Hello Keith, I want to upgrade my inverter and batteries. I am told the 8kw inverter for my home is the way to go, however I thinking that 2 x 5kw inverter is best, the reason being if one inverter has a problem I can still continue with the other. From Cape Town, South Africa.

Advantages are if a 30 kw inverter have any problem then total system is off but only 5kw have any problem then the line may run. After fix 5kw ,total system is ok.

Each phase here has 2 in parallel... I guess you can add two on 1 phase too, but it won't balance and your utility will bill you for the highest phase use.
