Wiring a MaxxECU MINI PiggyBack/Parallel Basics

I love the video, would you be able to go over the actual power and ground circuit for sensors in a parallel setup. I’ve heard different things from different people.

Question, I'm getting ready to start my car with a maxxecu race version. I see that most of the outputs are ground controlled by the ECU. I have everything wired up and I used the fusebox from the maxxecu website. my fuel pump and engine fan are not coming on when I go key on, engine off. Do I need to turn these on through the mtune software?

Yes you need to setup all additional inputs and outputs in mtune under their respective sections

I'm curious to see how your crank trigger and cam triggers share with the stock ECU. Does the Toyota use VR or hall sensors?

This is a VR sensor so it has a strong output voltage that you can just tap and share with both ECUs

I like that you can share the factory crank VR sensor to both factory ecu and the mini...what if i wanna tap the hall sensor on cam so i can run full sequential, on a 4 cyl.. Subaru EJ motor.

@@TurbineResearch I found out you are correct, I was losing sync at higher RPMs and found I had to put a 10k shunt resistor in in order to hold signal to 7000 RPM.

I guess I haven't been paying that much attention. What year vehicle is the this? Pre or post 96? And with injectors and ignition being taken over, won't this set a code in the factory ecu? I'm very interested in this video series, I may have a future project of my own. Thanks.

This is a 2001 4Runner. The igniter has a separate output that tells the ecu the coils were fired so as long as they get fired the ecu shouldn’t be able to tell. The injectors are a dumb output so they should be fine. We will find out soon how it all goes. Stay tuned
