I modified a BG12 to release itself as soon as you let go of the pull lever so it immediately shuts itself off without the key. Makes a cool momentary button for a garage door opener or doorbell. Just make sure you use the right step down transformer for that application

That's a cool mod! Personally, I like the STI stopper stations for that type of application. Multiple sets of NO & NC contacts, customizable, and typically a high power rating on the contacts.

Awesome video, I had some wires left over from a makey makay set, and I also have another demo system but with regular wires and a plug, I didn't want to waste money so this really helped!

Great video! Say I get a 21 volt alarm. Would I still just do 3 9 volts?
@nesman00013 жыл бұрын
I highly doubt you would come across a 21 volt alarm but if you do, 2, 9 volts should do the job just fine

My fire alarm went off when the wires touched the barriers even though there was a pull station wired. What do I do??

Make sure the pull station wasn't already activated. What model were you using?

I have a simplex 4903-9101 and i'm not sure how many to use. Also my dad told me daisy chaining batteries is unsafe. Any other ideas?
@nesman00013 жыл бұрын
Without a power supply(or control panel), connecting batteries like this is the easiest and most simple way. Considering they are 3, 9 volt batteries, the current output is very low. I would not call it unsafe however I would be careful. If your parents wish you do not connect batteries like that, please listen to them since after all, they are your parents. (3, 9 volts should do the trick for a 4903-9101 though)

Also what exact type copper wires do you use to hook up the alarm?
@nesman00013 жыл бұрын
I use stranded 18 AWG wire

Can you put the wire link so I can by it

Would you like a link to the speaker wire or the colored coded leads with the clips on the ends of each wire?

Can someone help me so I have a adapter that has an output of 9v and I’m not using a pull station so I was wondering if i can use it on a simplex 4906 9130?
@nesman0001 Жыл бұрын
The 9v adapter will not work, since when three nine volts are connected like they are in the video, it adds the voltage to 27 volts (9*3). Also, the simplex 4906-9130 is a smartsync device and would require a simplex smartsync module or panel. Hope that helps!
@jasonvoorhees1415 Жыл бұрын
@@nesman0001 how about the 4903 9418 non addressable simplex truealert
@nesman0001 Жыл бұрын
That one will also require a smartsync module.

So I have to connect the simplex truealert 4906 9130 with the simplex truealert 4903 9418?
@nesman0001 Жыл бұрын
No, both of those alarms required 24volts DC and a separate module made by simplex that will get them to work properly.
