Wiring option for the Spoiler Arm/Disarm Mod - DIY

This is a supplementary video on my Spoiler Arm/Disarm Mod on the TM TCA Quadrant. I got asked a lot on another way to connect the new mod switch without sacrificing the built-in landing gear switch. I hope this will help.

I just finished my mod yesterday and did exactly this switch except I used pin 3. I never used this switch anyway. It works well with the default and FBW a320 but the Fenix works to arm but not disarm. Still figuring it out. Thanks for this video.

Good to hear Norman! FenixA320 sometimes has this thing of interpreting button states in reverse (eg. ON for OFF state and vice versa). Try playing with the ON PRESS and ON RELEASE options in the Controller Options and see if that helps.

HEY. i'v just bought the model on your website and i want to ask where should i solder the the black line to in the 2 connection point that you mentioned in the video? and is it okey to swap the swap the the two lines or the lines must be in particular position

Hi. It doesn't matter which wire. They can be interchanged :)

The cutting required - is this simply to create a gap? Once cut can i solder to this remaining part of the pin going into the board?

The cutting is necessary to disconnect that pin from the default knob's "position 3". The remaining pin on the board is still available but is now controlled by the new add-on swith (once soldered). :)

I would like to order this MOD however, My TCA Auto Brake switch positions 3 had HI work intermittently. I can wiggle it a bit to get a connection, but it doesn't stay connected. Can you please tell me what type of switch it is, or a part number for a replacement. I need to replace it before I order the MOD. Thanks.

Hi George, I am sorry but I'm not sure about the part/model number of that selector switch or if TM Provides that part alone. There is also a possibility that the circuit board is at fault and not the sector switch. One way to check this is by uisng a multi tester and test all pins to see if the problem occurs.

@@santiagoluib3 Thanks. I can test it. Also I'll check the solder points. By the way how can I remove the gear lever handle. I don't want to break it.

@@georgefaulk2528 there is a tiny metal pin that secures the landing gear handle. you need to push this pin out with a similarly-sized rod or pins. if you look at my other video about this Spoiler Arm/Disarm mod, I discussed it there :) thanks!
