Wiring up the 74LS93 4-bit Counter

Breadboard connection of the 74LS93 4-bit counter in Mod-16 and Mod-10 modes. Frequency division is demonstrated using a loudspeaker.

Could you explain What type of Mod counter would be adequate for a 3 digit display starting at 000 to 999? I would of thought a Mod 100 but i am not certain.

I hope you see this! I need it to count from 9 to 0. It is on down count, and it willc ount 15 to 0 fine, so I NAND 15 to load ABCD which is set to 1001 (9). It will count 9, 8, and then reset. I don't understand

You need to use and up/down counter like a 74LS90 or CD4510
