Wirral 100 - AS SuperSport Class - Race 02 @ Oulton Park

So here is my second (and final), race of the day at Oulton Park.
It was about as close to a catastrophe as you can get without actually falling off.
It started when my quick-shifter issue, became.... Pretty much permanent.
What it turns out had happened was the ground wire for the Healtech unit had snapped at the plug, but remained in its heat shrink, meaning as the engine moved under load, the wire came off, and had a bad connection. This not only resulted in a failure of the Quick-shifter Unit itself, but an Intermittent mis-fire, as the unit kept "re-connecting" and cutting the ignition.
This was a big problem going over some of the crests, as I would gain full power sometimes at the very top of the crests, which resulted in rather interesting wheelie/bike behaviour at those points.
And to cap it off, I got in the way of the leaders as I was getting lapped. Usually at Wirral 100 there are Blue flags (I should know I get them enough), and I try to acknowledge them the best I can. In this instance, there was no flags, and I got the shock of my life coming into Shell Oils. Combined with a misfire on the Exit, and basically one of the championship contenders was denied a shot at an overtake for the win.
Granted, I didn't adjust my line, or get any flags, so there wasn't much I could do in hindsight, but its still not an Ideal situation, so I can only apologise.
That being said, the weekend, was a fruitful one, and I gained a large amount of experience from it, from actually learning Oulton in the dry, to understanding how to cope with Mechanical failures, and, quite frankly, being a backmarker.
