In Distance, this is an everyday level 1 skip that would get exploited on the first run. Seriously. I have entered many levels for the first time only to jump off the track moments later to reach the finish, bypassing 3 minutes of spaghetti in the process.

@Zalied2 жыл бұрын
the assumption tends to be that the higher skill trick is faster. an issue comes down to resets. if your not doing the insane trick staying on the track is faster. if your practicing the insane trick your resetting if you dont get it. So this middle ground just never felt faster so everyone constantly reset if they ever got close so no one would see the time save. Even if it did save a small bit of time the shortcut people are going for the harder clearly faster trick (in their minds) if their trick is barely faster why would this other way be. This is why in every game you see theirs 1 new tricks discovered every few years or so but not like 10 at once even though all those tricks were there day 1. (literally any speedrun, racing, mario,zelda anything) everyones too busy doing the 1 trick why complicate it. But once that one trick is done they find new tricks some very obviously right there if anyone checked. But the checkers were looking at other things

It just goes to show how important it is to double check and try to rethink known theories from a blank slate standpoint.

I did a run that took 8 seconds, but forgot to record it.. Actually I did, but just didn't want the fame, money, glory and trackmania women? Just trust me. In all seriousness it's actually amazing how much humans can do. Crazy precision, grueling hours doing the same thing again and again, until they finally achieve a pixel perfect manoeuvre. Big props.

I dont. Always looking for a shortcut outside the track. Garbage. The only reason it can happen is because theres no patch for it. Maybe stay on the track and then they would gain my respect. Anything else is pure stupid luck.

Every single one of the videos can be summed up like this: *"On this one trackmania track everyone thought the WR was set but actually no. So john set the WR again. And everyone thought the WR was set. But actually no. And everyone thought the WR was set. But actually no. And everyone thought the WR was set. But actually no. And everyone thought the WR was set. But actually no. And everyone thought the WR was set. But actually no. AND FINALLY the ultimate glitch where you fart on the keyboard while you complete the level, called 'fartboosting' by the players, was discovered, which cut down the time by one 69th of a second, bringing the WR time to just **4:20:00**. The end."* Fr tho, keep going, love these.

I've only played the extremely watered down demo on ps4 5 years ago so I don't have much experience or time invested in this game (don't get me wrong even the demo was lit for being a trial) but I have watched every single one of this guy's videos on the game at least twice 😂 you don't even have to play this game to appreciate the content. Well done good sir.

Lol when you said I challenge you to figure out where the skip is, I immediately thought of the skip at 2:07, so i was a bit taken aback when you said it was discovered by "William B", next to a UK flag no less 😅

Considering that this is one of the shorter tracks in TMNF, I'm almost certain there are tonnes of undiscovered shortcuts in the game.
@commonmancrypto16482 жыл бұрын
@8:10 As someone who's enjoying the video but doesn't play the game, what would happen if you slowed down on the hill just enough so you wouldn't go into the air.....maybe you could make up the time because you'd be able to keep accelerating....and maybe you fling yourself into that last turn and bounce through. Worth a try I guess....I'm sure someone must have done this already.

Out of interest in the last shortcut why couldn't they continue to drive on and into the right side of the finish line barrier instead of flipping over the fence?

I'm not a trackmania player, and i do not know if it could be faster, but is it possible to land on top of the first castle roof before the finish, using the bugslide skip, to bounce your way over the wall into the finish?
@leafster82442 жыл бұрын
most likely no because you dont go in a straight line, and well as wirtual said himself, more airtime lost is more time spent accelerating on the ground lost, and the extra height (after jumping on the castle) would give you more airtime, and you need to slow down

I don't know how I found this guy, but I fucking love these videos, the history, the community, it's amazing. It makes me so nostalgic (as a 28yo) about when I was a teen playing warcraft 3 in my bedroom, building maps and having that insane community feeling once I came home from school. I am scared for the current younger generation, it definitely feels as if they're missing something and I have teenage siblings that are just consumed by social media but do not strive for anything :(
