Funny story about italians and their food: Before I was born, my parents went a holiday around the world, and this included Italy, Milan specifically. They were somewhat annoyed by the limited selections of toppings on the pizzas, so they ordered two, and put the toppings of one onto the other. There were a few unhappy Italians, to say the least. Edit: Apparently, it was in Rome that it happened, not Milan.

Fun fact (or maybe not so fun if you're Italian): Putting ketchup on spaghetti is actually pretty common in Japan. It's called napolitan (ナポリタン), so do with that information what you will.

Spaghetti is one of the best types of pasta because if the dish has any type of sauce (except ketchup) it will pick it up. As an Italian, ketchup on spaghetti is acceptable. I would 200% recommend just using any other sauce/condiment (tomato, pesto, arrabbiata, peppers, amatriciana, parmigiana, carbonara). Yet, ketchup is basically tomato sauce, so I'd prefer it over, I don't know, mayonnaise

the problem of cutting spaghetti is that at the end you get a bunch of spaghetti pieces you can't even pick up with a fork and go with a spoon in that case. In some cases, you risk to get spaghetti too short to twist them with a fork and too long to pick with a spoon, making it painful to handle at some point And yes, ketchup on spaghetti is a war crime but i'm no one to stop you so go eat whatever you want.
