It took me so long to understand this and I still struggle a lot with it when playing myself. I think checkpoint speed should be made a baseline feature to help players understand how to go fast, especially with the console plebs now that can't even get mods

many tend to joke, but wirtual is actually a really really solid player... maps like these, just like A01, that are simplistic in design tend to be exactly those that show the potential of top players. of course its the "top players" of this format of playstyle, as we probably heard a hundred times and more from wirtual "You dont need to get 1st every round as long as you get 1st when it counts.". Thus COTD kinda combines a show of skill and quality of repetition, as in "you need to be good enough to qualify, but you also need to show that you can do it multiple times." While others possibly prefer the prestige of holding a world record or... being in the top 5 on a very prestigious map, which is fine. I on the other hand do really enjoy watching COTD matches, simply because of the previously mentioned requirements it fields for someone to be at the top.

There should be a COTD where every round after qualifier, one thing changes per round..ie new obstical, diffrent block... Then when the round is done the change reverts back to how it orginally was and something else changes for the next round.

Early position for speed can be a very valid strategy, don't worry too much about being red if you're faster early on

"Why am i slow in the Start?" Maybe bc u missed 2 crusical airbrakes back to back at the start? With airbrake you land and accelerate instantly from 238. Without you land with 238 then it stumbles down to 230 and JUST THEN it starts accelerating again. same on the second jump right at the start. His Nosedive approach is slower

Here’s hoping one day Nadeo puts in a non-random way of determining tie-break. Literally just set it for whoever crossed with more speed, crossed the last checkpoint first, crossed the first checkpoint last, it doesn’t matter. Just give us a method that is consistent and fair to all players

I think the cumulative time of all the runs since the start of the elimination phase should be used. You are indeed giving the win to the faster player between the two in that COTD. In any case, I think this is easily fixed keeping track of the time with more precission. Even if you don't display it, you can go to 4 or 5 decimals. This makes almost statistically impossible to have a perfect tie.
