What I love about the Wirtz links is that we are at a point where we need to sign the best players in the world. Even if we dont get him, he's the type of player we actually need to go after. The Declan Rice types of signings. If we don't get Wirtz we should go for Musiala

I think we are in a point of time, where we need to take the big boys pants on, regarding the market. Next summer there is a possibility on Wirtz, Mushiala and Simons. These are the three players of best quality on the market potentially, and we are in a great position to snap one of them. You see City, Liverpool, Bayern, Real and Barca, PSG would want them regardles of what they actually need. Reason is obvious, they will do it, because it would enhance their position no matter what. Arsenal should/will do it aswell. There is no argument for a player like that, to not hit the ground and become very important and influencial. Next summer is about few incoming transfers but of highest quality. We already know Partey has to be replaced, other than that best possible players we can get.

Don’t be silly, relying on young players and not buying world class talents is on of the reasons we’ve gone 20 years without a league title, I agree Wirtz might not be worth the price and would probably prefer Musiala but can’t believe you mentioned Nwaneri 😂

Between the German wonderkids Musiala suits us better because w/o Odegaard our creativity is dangerously low. Wirtz and Odegaard clash in my mind but i ain’t complaining and Arteta knows better.

Realistically speaking, i don't see it happening. We hardly go all out on players. Imo we need to win something major to attract big name players. If we do win something major this season (🤞 it happens), it significantly boosts our chances of signing players like wirtz.

I think Wirtz would be an absolut elit signing. He's aleady fantastic and still very young. I think he can be at De Bruyne-level in a couple of years. Also he is super versatile. He can play left 8/10, right 8/10, left winger, right winger and even as a false nine. Pretty soon we won't have Partey or Joginho anymore and I think the perfect thing to replace them would be to play Rice at 6 and bring in a creativ monster in Wirtz to play left 8 and alternate with Merino depending on opponent and game state. If we want a more physical central midfield Merino can play left 8 and Wirtz eiher playing on any of the other positions I mentioned, or come of the bench on that occation. To have Wirtz next to Ödegård would be a very creativ partnership that would really help us break down low blocks. Wirtz is my dream signing next summer.

I’d pay £80m max which is around 95€ but he’s not worth more than that cos I can’t see where he plays in a permanent manor cos Arteta doesn’t really play with two attacking 8’s he plays box to box8 /6 and attacking 8(10) so he would be cover and sometimes starter

Wirtz would be an UNBELIEVABLE signing. I think Rice 6, Odegaard 8 and Wirtz 10 would be special. Odegaard has the work rate and quality to play the left 8 (The assist against Chelsea for Havertz always sticks out showing what he could do on the left). Win the league in May, sign Wirtz in the summer and start an era of success💉💉💉

Only one moment in the last 3 or 4 years makes you think he can play there. I want to see odegaard play left 8 for a couple of matches before I make that claim, cause as far as I see he dislikes that position with a passion.

The problem is chance creation, Trossard isn't very good creator or a ball retainer. He's the right profile to play against Manchester City but not Leicester, this game similar to Spurs and Atalanta is made for Nwaneri

If Wirtz joins Arsenal his role changes to more of a 9. He will evolve in a way he doesn't expect. Him and Kai and Musiala should be performing better than they are for Germany when playing together.

Look at the Leicester results so far, very poor considering who they were playing. Compare those to our results and who we were playing. We should be hitting a 5-0 against Leicester. Remember that run of wins we had at the start of 2024 with some great results and some big scores? Palace H 5-0, Forest A 2-1, Liverpool H 3-1, West Ham A 6-0, Burnley A 5-0, Newcastle H 4-1, Sheff Utd A 6-0.. I think we are going to go on a run like that starting right now with Leicester, Southampton and Bournemouth.

Exactly, wirtz is honestly unbelievable, a balondor level talent at 21, an elite chance creator and finisher, played at the highest level internationally and for club, the face of the Germany team with musiala…nwaneri is a phenomenal talent, but he’s 17…he still needs core development, we’re in our win now phase, nwaneri will get minutes obviously…but I see him being brought into the team like foden was for city😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

Next summer we'll probably have to replace Partey and Jorginho, buy a Saka back up or sign Sterling permanently if he does well with us. We probably have to get that striker we've needed and sign a goal keeper If those players are B. Guimaraes , Isak, Garcia, Wirtz etc we'll need a bags of cash to make this happen

This makes zero sense for a few reasons. 1. What happens with nwaneri if arsenal sign an attacking player with the quality of wirtz? 2. This would surley mean wirtz would play lcm next to odegaard. That's ok in the easier games but would we really play that in the toughest games? We would be too attacking and vulnerable in midfield and neither wirtz or odegaard would be happy being dropped for big games. Another striker, winger makes more sense and don't forget both partey and jorginho's contracts run out in tge summer so at least 1 more central midfielder needs to be signed and also a backup goalkeeper. Can't see arsenal spending that amount of money on player we don't even need

That's an obscene amount of money to be honest and there's no way on earth that a club is going to pay that so, if he wants to go and they've stuck that price on him, its going to stop him moving onto a bigger club......... I think the 3 year PSR cycle ends at the end of this year, probably the reason why the transfer window was so limp. So we might be able to do another rice-like spend
