Great honest assessment of kits. I have three boxes of each so I can cover all three Muslim armies. I also use the Arab foot plastic box kit heads with wrapped faces to make my Moor army cavalry. The Javelin cases I wish they had more, but they are great kits.

Noice! I think that may be my plan as well. Good call on the masked face heads from the infantry kit. If the ogrish GB faces bother someone, they can just use those masked ones! (Faster to paint too!)

Hey Rodge, would you like to elaborate on your 32mm round bases comment? I was considering 20mm x 40mm (instead of our usual 25mm x 50mm) bases for mounted missile troops. Should I rethink? Thanks for your awesome channel.

Hi Dean! For melee troops, base size mostly doesn't matter. For missile troops, smaller bases are better for squeezing your guys into range while keeping the enemy as far away as possible. If you run mounted missile troops, you will find it's much easier to get them all into that M range with the 20x40mm bases. Objectively they're better than 32mm rounds - I just prefer round bases and 32mm is as small as you can get them.

Have you tried filling the gaps with a mix of Tamiya extra thin glue and sprue clippings ? It works great for smaller gaps.

I have just finished assembling the horses, and I have to say I am really disapointed. They just didi not fit together well. Having previously assembled lots of Perry horses (which are very well designed) I was amazed how bad these Gripping Beast horses were.

Thanks for chiming in! These are the first and worst of the GB plastic horses. The later kits like the Goth/Roman cav seem better on the gaps.

Shortly after I posted this, Fireforge announced some Islamic infantry kits. I reckon there will be some cav in the future as well but nothing confirmed!
