Wisconsin Badgers basketball is about to start it's season! What should the confidence level be?

I think success has more to do with the tournament and success in that. However I do respect your opinion that many programs would kill for a 5 seed.

I disagree with Chucky take. Blackwell and Kamari is plenty to replace him. Either hunter or Freitag can be in too. I think the depth is the best thing going for them.

I'm excited for this year. It will be interesting to see how all the new additions fit. Credit to Gard for adapting to the transfer portal era and reloading the roster.

Will be interesting to see the minute distribution tonight. Think alot of guys play again tonight. Janicki a bright spot right now. If his play continues to transfer on floor in games think he will be part of rotation.

I liked the show, I have been a Badger Fan for 40+seasons. The portal has definitely changed the landscape of college football and basketball. Let’s all be more patient will the entire program before we decide to start hacking up all the coaching positions. UW was caught off guard because there is some arrogance that UW is above having bad seasons or being caught off guard. We lost Hepburn and Storr over big time money offered to them. Wisconsin chose not to counter or sweeten the pie to them. So everyone please chill while the athletic department adjust to these changing times. Let the coaches coach, the administration manage and the athletes play. They will get it figured out. Patiences is much needed during these times. On Wisconsin!

I have loved the Badgers my entire life since the Finley, Webster days. Bo Ryan was amazing and I thought GG was given a Wisconsin team that was at the peak and has really been disappointing me as a coach. We lack athletes every year and our players do not progress along with drama over the last few seasons or so... Wisconsin needs to find themselves again with Basketball and Football, nobody knows who or what they are.

Watching teams jack up contested 3s is the worst. I hope it doesn’t look like that. But if they are working the offense and getting open ones that is totally different

This is not a B1G competitive roster. They did not shore things up or improve in any way...at least not for this season They just swept up some average players from WhocaresU and still have Gard running the show. The will struggle to maintain contact with the mid-tier teams in the conference.

I don’t have high expectations for this team. I just want to be in a position to make a push for the tournament so the games down the stretch mean something; even if we ultimately miss. If we’re sitting at 10-10 end of January it’s going to be tough to stomach after the way football has gone.

I cant imagine anyone describing last years season that ended in a 30 point drubbing by a high school team a success ? Thats how bad Wisconsin BB/Football has fallen.

Football is everything to Wisconsin. Redirect all of the resources to reestablishing what was once a great football program. Otherwise, you'll have TWO below average programs, and the fans are going to get tired with both!

@LockedOnBadgers Love you too man. JMU loss is a complete failure. KEN got rid of their coach for a 2nd rd loss with 4 top 5 rec classes in a row. I want to win in the tournament. I'm not sure this team even makes the tourney.

How much is Luke Fickell's contract buyout in 2024? As per the deal signed upon, if the Badgers fire Luke Fickell before his tenure finishes (2027) without any cause, they'll have to cover 80% of the total contract value, or $6,480,000 (AAV considering time left on his contract). However, there's a slight twist to it. The Badgers will only be required to pay the remaining sum until Fickell finds himself a comparable job. On the other hand, if Luke Fickell decides to leave the program before March 2027, he would be liable to pay $8 million. If he leaves after April 2027 but before March 2030, when his contract tenure ends, he would then have to pay $5 million.
