Wisdom 32
Habib Ali al-Jifri explains selections from the classical manual of Islamic spirituality, al-Hikam (Book of Wisdoms), authored by the renowned scholar and spiritual master Ibn Ata'illah (d. 1309).
The Book of Wisdoms has enjoyed universal recognition among the ulama (scholars) of Islam as an authoritative text in the science and practice of Tasawuff (also known in Arabic as Tazkiya, Ihsan and in English as Islamic spirituality or Sufism).
Ibn Ata'illah was a Maliki jurist and an adherent of the Ash'ari school of theology. He was mentored in the spiritual path by the great scholar Abu'l Abbas al-Mursi, may Allah have mercy upon him. Ibn Ata'illah is buried in Cairo, Egypt.
