Welcome to Wisdom City Yaoundé. Wisdom City Yaoundé is a project whose investment, construction and management are exclusively under the responsibility of CORECAM S.A. It is located at the southern end of the 20th May Boulevard, or Le Boulevard du 20 Mai in French.
The Prime Minister's Office, various ministries and commissions, office buildings and shopping malls are also located within a kilometer of the complex.
The project is composed of 5 main buildings and other amenities. They also have a 25-meter swimming pool, a garden, parking spaces, sports fields, an 800 Kilovolt Amperes diesel generator, a 128 cubic meters domestic water tank, and a 365 cubic meter firefighting water tank that are being put into operation.
A single building has a total of 6 types of apartments ranging from 2 to 5 bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen, several bathrooms and 1 to 3 balconies. The price list including tax for these is between 260,000 and 380,000 US dollars.
This establishment features various modern security equipment that protects residents and block intruders.

This is good, but the price only will make real estate business in Cameroon less attractive. With 120m CFA you can build your self a big mansion in Odza with your own security and big yard for your kids to play around. Its good but an average Cameroonian can't afford it.

The problem with most African cities is currently their construction industries have no economies of scale. Therefore instead of locally sourcing the materials for cheap prices they have to import from other non-African countries. The expensive first world prices, long distances, and high import fees means 60%-80% more than the supplies should be creating extremely overpriced real estate in cities like Accra, Lagos, Luanda and others.

I feel like comparatively to what other more developed countries offer at this price this is a little too basic. Even in the US you would be able to find yourself a nice place to stay with $250,000-$380,000. I feel like this place would make more business as an Airbnb because foreigners would love the sense of security and proximity to things and also the exclusiveness

I am wondering why using a 800kVA diesel generator, rather than solar panels ? We have the sun, the space and everything that makes solar power very affordable, and above all, less expensive on the long run. Diesel prices will not be subsidised perpetually by the government (high costs in the future). Besides this will be emitting a lot of greenhouse gases...

@pabloernesto8044

Solar panels are not recommended in apartment buildings of this scale. The building will be underpowered. Diesel generators are more efficient and have more power input than solar panels.
@dogons2k12
@dogons2k12 2 жыл бұрын
@@pabloernesto8044 Solar panels can definitely be used on tall buildings although not cost effective as it could cost 50-100 times less with diesel powering 25 floors. One of the tallest skyscrapers in the UK, the *CIS Tower* probably twice as taller than the yaounde infrastructure has the largest and tallest array of solar panels in the world with 575.5 kW of total solar panels. The entire building is covered with solar panels. Ontop of that they added *24 wind turbines* which cover *20%* of the buildings overall power.
@siewewill4332
@siewewill4332 Жыл бұрын
They wld probably need a lot more space for solar panels to adequately power all 5 buildings. Im sure they considered the option and if it was more economical they wld have gone for it.

This is beautiful but I have reservations on that.....First of all, Cameroon has no problem with infrastructures but MAINTAINING them is an issue. It seems that Cameroonians don't see value in maintaining high value assets in the long run. Second, for families with children, apart from the swimming pool, you do not have attractions: slides, bac a sable, games, and attractive park activities for children to play. Therefore, I'd rather buy my own land and do what I feet is right with it. But thank you for trying though.

Great idea but we need to compare with other African countries for the same cost. Think about Rwanda, Ghana , Nigeria even Equatorial G, many southern African countries. There are lots of Diasporas looking to invest in Africa and Cameroon is not attractive. Secondly, why should one live in such luxury apartment and be stuck in pot holes down town , high electricity which is not consistent, rule of law? The people building such complex have leverage with other parts of the government. Hence we need joint working and collaboration with other areas of society to make this a success and attractive. For the love of my homeland 👍🏿👍🏿

Affordable for who?? Not for the average American! In America a house priced this much would be mortgaged for 30 years a life time to be able to be affordable.

we all know that Japanese or Chinese luxury look different from european one though european majestic architecture still carry ancient African design I don't understand why nowadays African architects struggle to recreate a new definition of African luxury since our rich cultural diversity is full of elements that can be used for a re birth of a new African architecture paradigm?. That property is too similar to something european call luxurious but should we African copy and paste their interpretation of luxury?

Very nice but imo Cameroon doesn't really need such things. If you can afford it, go for it. But people lack education in Cameroon, health and medication, security and basic stuffs. Our government should invest as much as that, in what would make us all able to afford such luxury... Education and Health
