Why are you using a picture of Tom Oar, a reality star from Mountain Men television series, in your cover photo for this topic? Tom Oar is an American trapper in Montana and has nothing to do with Australia.

he got one wrong, "God Helps those who help themselves" that has been around since Adam wore short pants, what makes it Australian is the next sentence, i.e. God helps those who help themselves...and Australians ad....and Christ help those that can't (help themselves that is)

Hm. Australian wisdom? I'm American, and I'm familiar with almost all of these sayings. I was always told that these are English ideas, brought over by the Pilgrims, and whatnot. "The family that prays together stays together", for example. Odd.

Perhaps you could educate us, and show us the one person who sat on their rear, did nothing and God came along and helped them... The Universe always helps those who work at helping themselves.
