WISE THINGS TO DO on our van FOR PERMANENT JAUNTING with Cindy and Graham Jaunti Camper Van Life.
So here we are doing Necessary upgrades before jaunting out. These things are crucial to our well being , reliability, safety and fun.
We replaced the old gell batteries for brand new Li Ion batteries..
This was a major improvement, both energy wise and weight wise.. We fitted 2 of, L10012 batteries. each weighing 13kg. appose to the 2 old gell 12v batteries weighing 70kg each so, straight away we gained over 100Kgs lightness.
We then had a custom Matress made using a higher density memory foam, with a single soft top layer.. for comfort. Looks and feel great.. guess we gonna do some real sleeping again..
The other thing we did was colllected the 270 awning from the upholsterer after he sewed the necessary seems up.
Now we need to install it to the left side of Jaunti.
This operation could take some time.. but a must be before we go out full time on the road, which is soon.. time is flying.. and we need to do lots to be ready.
We contacted the Peugeot specialist and he will sort the timing belt out for us, this item is costly.. but it is time for Jaunti to have this last service done to be reliable.
Things are going according to plan and its amazing to see as they are corrected/modified. Jaunti is looking great again.
AND ALMOST READY FOR ACTION AGAIN...

Hi there, guys ... awesome to see you move to lithium... just a question: Is that charge controller definitely an MPPT controller. I got caught with a controller that had mppt in the name (could not see the one you showed), but it wasn't an mppt... batteries got damaged (does not happen immediately), just verbaizing so that you don't pay the same school fees as we did. Hi there.. I got this charge control unit from my son who is an expert in the solar world.. He is a known name in the solar installation game. Thank you for your concern there.. much appreciated. My boy said the previous setup was bad due to the charge controller over charging and letting the gel batteries over charge and blowup like balloons and burst the + and - fitting parts.
