"How I met your father" Anime edition. The white-haired fox girl is Myuri. Daughter of Holo and Lawrence. She has Lawrence's hair. Since Lawrence (a human) won't live as long as Holo, he left behind for her a daughter, so Holo wouldn't be pained by his absence after he's long departed from this world. (Dies)

Yes it is a reteling of story. You don't need to watch the old one. Better yet, if everything goes as planed this should show more story that was not covered in old anime. Subed and im waitng for another reaction :D

You're definitely on the right track about the chemistry between Holo and Kraft. A big part of the story is about the two of them becoming closer and filling in the emptiness that lies within both of their hearts. Holo has been losing the love of her village as the new religion takes over from the old beliefs and she's lonely and homesick. Kraft has been traveling the road as a merchant all alone, just his horse as company from town to town for around 7 years at the start of the story. So as much of a snarky, assertive, trouble making wolf goddess Holo is, Kraft quickly learns to rely on her cunning and wisdom, and enjoy her companionship more then he ever imagined possible. Holo learns that even an old wise wolf sometimes just needs someone to believe in her and learns to appreciate Kraft's kindness towards her while at the same time treating her like an equal and not just worshiping her. It's definitely a romance story. That little girl in the prologue had some lovely silver hair, didn't she? Wonder how she came to have such a unique hair color?

@@tzuwu123 It was indeed Holo telling the story to a character that the episode credits list as Myuri. And little miss Myuri seemed to get told stories by Holo if her request to hear something different this time was anything to go by. They must be very familiar to each other. But time will tell if this anime lasts long enough to find out more about how Holo comes to be telling stories to a little silver haired girl in the cold northern winters

Spice and Wolf is a realistic adventure romance (except for the wolf girl/woman deity) with non of the school girl shy or quirky immature romance. The scene pre opening is a hint of Wolf and Parchment the next series in this saga.

This is a remake of the classic show. The original was a great anime, but diverged from the light novels a bit much. This is a slice of life Renaissance era economic story with a slow burn romance.

Gonna love Holo so much and glad she's returning with full story and high animation ❤ Talk about remaster,I hope some of my fav anime got yhe same case .Kaichou Wa Maid Sama .My Hime/My-Otome series It would be better some classic anime new version

whats actually a bit sad is that the anime does a bad job portraying lawrence thoughts here. the whole point of basically the first chapter in the novel is to establish, that lawrence is super lonely, so lonely that he wishes his horse changes into a female companion (a legend in this world and the reason, that merchants buy young good looking horses, so musing this lawrence regretts the fact that he bought an old horse.) So when he meets holo, who is lonely in her own kind of way, its actually a match made in heaven and yes its a remade, almost same plot so far both (so far) were quite close to the novel

About the horse thing, Lawrence bought a male steed because he didn't believe in the legend and wanted to be more efficient in his trade... although he did think about replacing it for a mare for a second before realizing he's being ridiculous 😅
