Hi there. We're happy to help you. It sounds like you want to add money to a balance under your account. If so, note that if you're opening your account while in Morocco, our balance feature isn't available there. So, you wouldn't be able to add money to it. You can see the regions where our balance feature's offered here: wi.se/balanceavailability. However, since you're moving to Italy where our balance feature's available, you can open an account with your Italian address once you've moved there. After, you'll be able to add money to your balance, here's how: wi.se/addmoneytoyourbalances. Rest assured, we're working on expanding to more locations. Also, depending on the country, we might be able to accept different documents, or reject some others. This depends on the region. Hi, I'm a freelancer and don't have a registered business at the moment. I just signed up for a Personal account before watching this video. I primarily wanted to use Wise to receive funds from my Gumroad sales and PayPal as my bank doesn't support international transfers. Can I still use my Personal account for those purposes?

Since it sounds like these payments are business related, you'll need to open a business account with us instead to receive such payments. Here's how: wi.se/getabusinessaccount. Just a note that your business account is only for business purposes, and vice versa for personal accounts. They can't be used interchangeably as it goes against our Acceptable Use Policy here: wi.se/usepolicy. Also, you can receive money from other using account details. However, this feature's only available in select regions. Check out your eligibility and how to get it here: wi.se/getbankdetails. Customers in the UAE aren't eligible to balances, so you won't be able to add, hold, or receive money into your account, nor create account details. I know it been a minute since you posted this, but I want to ask, does the Wise Money Card overcharges into another currency if you don’t have enough money exchanged to the currency you’re using while aboard? I really wanted to keep this card as an Emergency Fund & Travel Card that I have near me if I’m traveling or if something arises. If someone were to steal it, I would love to know that the theft wouldn’t have the ability to spend more than 800 USD while I have 10,000 of another currency like Euros in the Wise Money Bank.

Hi there. We completely understand your concerns. We never overcharge for transactions in different currencies as we always use the mid-market rate when converting between currencies. In the case you don't have money in a local currency, when you make a purchase with your Wise card, it will automatically deduct from the balance with money that has the best conversion fee. That being said, since you'd like to use it as an Emergency Fund, we suggest putting your money into a Jar, which you or someone else won't be able to spend it with your card. Getting a Jar is free and you're able to move money into your regular balances when you're ready to spend it. Learn more here: wi.se/getting-jars Also, if you ever suspect fraudulent transactions, be sure to Freeze your card, dispute the transaction, and contact us immediate. Although we always work on offering our services everywhere, our Balances feature that allows you to hold and receive money directly into your Wise account isn't available in some regions just yet. You can check here to see where you can open balances: wi.se/balanceavailability. So, based on your previous comment, if you're residing in Ghana, you won't be able to open balances yet. Hi, Kian. It sounds like you're trying to create an account with us, but for some reason it won't take your phone number as it appears to be already in use. For general info, this can happen for reused phone numbers by the carrier, and the number is linked or used as a primary number on some other account. Hey, Adam. It's against our terms of use policy, to use your personal accounts to receive business payments. You can use your personal account to receive money (including salary, pension, monthly rent, etc.). But a personal Wise Account can't be used for receiving payments in return for business activities. This means as a freelancer, you'll need to open a business account. For more info on which business can use Wise, check here: wi.se/allowedbusinesses. Note, opening a business account is not possible for everyone, depending on where your business is located will determine if you can open a business account. As you've mentioned that you're in Germany, if you've paid EUR, then it usually takes 1-2 working days if sent from SEPA countries. You can receive from the USA to Germany - once you get your USD account details, you'll need to share them with your senders to get paid. In order to withdraw cash, you'll need a Wise card. You can use the physical card in ATMs and we explain more here: wi.se/atm-withdraw. If you use a mobile wallet, you can also use your digital card at an ATM that supports contactless: wi.se/wisedigitalcard. Hi there. Once you sign up for a Wise account, we do send out email verifications to assure you're using the correct email. Also, keep in mind that we have different methods to protect your account from being hacked, such as 2-step verification when you log into your account (this feature cannot be disabled for security reasons). See more info here: wi.se/what-is-2fa That being said, we always encourage caution with the devices you use to login into your account, as well as creating unique and hard passwords to avoid any potential breaches. If you ever suspect you account has been hacked, please be sure to contact us immediately so we can take the appropriate actions. As far as your other questions, if you're from Italy, once you register your account and finishes the verification process, you should be able to open a USD balance; however, it's possible that we may need additional verification due to regulations. Currently, the interest rate for USD is 4.18% APY, but it's subject to change. Hey, there. This shouldn't affect your account as the amount you selected when you first signed up is just a gauge for our team to know how much money you're roughly going to transfer. However, as each payment is processed individually, we don't always know ahead of time when further verification is required. It's only when someone makes a transfer, that our system runs checks and determines if there's any more info needed to complete that specific payment. So don't be alarmed when we ask for additional info in the future. Our aim is always to process all transfers as fast as possible. But, we may ask still for additional info when we carry out our checks. Guys, need your assistance. I have opened a wise account with the UK address, and back then they didn't ask me to prove the address. Now I moved to Azerbaijan, where u can use Wise but you cannot open a wise account or have a new card. So now they ask me to prove my residence, and essentially froze my account so I cannot transfer money. I am really confused, what will happen if I send my current address? Will they block my account? Will they allow me to withdraw money to a local bank? Moreover, I will move to North Cyprus in a few weeks where I will get residence. Will I be able to use my wise account with a confirmed North Cyprus address, and open a new card? At this point I am only interested in withdrawing my money with Swift transfer. What can you advise me?

Hey there! As a highly regulated money service business, we always need our customers verified, which also means occasionally we need to verify your address. We understand people move, and in those cases, we would prefer that they'd update their address as well. If you now can't prove the address that you have in the UK, inform our team of it and provide them an address document in Azerbaijan. Email us your wish: wi.se/help and upload the document via self-service: wi.se/documentupload. But changing the address to there will remove you from the features that were available in the UK, which include receiving money and your Wise card. (Your card will remain active until it expires, but you can't order a new one.) You'll still be able to empty your balance and send USD/GBP or EUR via SWIFT: wi.se/swiftpayments While there's not a North Cyprus available to register to, depending on which region you move to (Cyprus or Turkey) you'll have the features available of that region. At the moment, paying for your transfers using BDT isn't supported, but if you'd like to send money abroad paying from your bank account in Bangladesh, you can ask your bank if they allow sending USD, EUR, or GBP instead, this will be sent via SWIFT. Learn more about SWIFT payments here: wi.se/swiftpayments Regarding having a personal Wise account to receive money into, this isn't possible at the moment, because we don't support balances in Bangladesh just yet. This means you can't hold or receive money directly to your Wise account. Hi Begum 👋 When our customer opens an account with us, we'll ask you to enter your address based on your country of residence. We won't ask you for a secondary address. Depending on where you’re sending money from, and how much you send, we’ll ask you to verify your identity. This helps us keep your money safe. If the document that you used to verify your identity is issued by a different country from your country of residence, we'll ask you to proof that you’re allowed to live there. So, in your case, if you upload an ID issued in Turkey, and you enter your profile address as Sweden, we'll ask you for this document. You can still get banking details for other currencies like EUR, GBP, AUD, NZD, RON, CAD, TRY, HUF and SGD. You can also receive USD via Swift (international wire) transfers using your GBP account details: wi.se/gbpbalance. Even if you already have a USD balance where you can send money from, there are some limitations about getting account details to receive payments. In this case, as you're on the wait list, we'll let you know as soon as these become available again - we're doing out best to reintroduce these, but don't have a definite timeframe. Keep in mind, some features such as the Wise card, balances, and receiving money isn't available for our customers in Pakistan just yet, but you can still send money with us.
