The woman is Ryssi Ávila. I like this - a lot. Great song to slow dance to, but I listened for a couple stanzas before I HAD to look up the lyrics because I couldn't even tell if they were singing in English. That's mostly me, I know. Regrettably, my hearing is not good, but a little crispness on the consonants would sure help me with understanding. I don't know if that could be done and retain its smooth airiness.. Still, it's a lovely piece. Your graphic of the rhythm was terrific - illuminating.

After watching this a few times, I began to appreciate the job they did hiding the cameras or camera people - eg. for close-up shots of the guitar. In the Gary V. video there is a section where the camera viewpoints change quickly with the complex rhythm. They must have had many cameras recording simultaneously, and then edited them into a composite later. The female singer here, Ryssi Avila did a great job.

I LOVE this pared down version of this original 20 year old song. This is actually my first time listening to it. I don't even know that song was there and I have over 5000 singles and albums in vinyl sitting in my brother's basement plus hundreds of CDs etc, so yeah I am a music lover from an earlier era. Damn! I lost my White Album, oh well. I am not a fan of that Rainbow Video from 2003. There were WAYYY too many people in it! It was a tad overproduced and kind of crowded and confusing. What I loved was the flute though!! What,They couldn't fit a transverse C flute on the bus? It lacks that airiness without the woodwind.. OK OK so it's airy enough.But I love wind instruments. I play them, so yeah I am biased.😁. This jazzy and natural back and forth version is really beautiful for all the reasons you described so well. I wish I could find this seemingly spontaneous pared down version. Again, another informative, insightful reaction. You wouldn't believe some of the other reactions I have seen. They think making weird faces was enough reaction. It gets old.

Great reaction you will have a tremendous amount of fun with these singers. The Wish Bus is a great source of Filipino music. Very inventive to use a bus that they can take to the many islands that the Philippines is composed of. They also last year started another Wish Bus in Los Angeles. To publicize the initial Wish Bus they got many well known Filipino singers to perform. Fan favorites of Marcelito Pomoy (The Prayer) and Morissette (Never Enough) doing their most well known and popular performances and P-Pop group SB 19, similar in style to your recent reaction to BTS, and TNT Boys is also interesting. There is of course a great deal of overlap with these artists you will discover. Morissette was a bridesmaid at Marcelito's wedding and he sang with Morissette on her hit of Secret Love Song at the 2nd annual Wish Awards for example.

Great info about the Wish Bus. Just want to add more, Wish was just a small radio station around 2016, when they decided to invite then underrated singers at that time, like Morissete, Darren Espanto, Katrina Velarde, Bugoy Drilon, Jason Dy, Daryl Ong, KZ, Michael P, Eumee Capile, etc. Since then, all these singers have become famous. But back then, these singers only had a small fan base. But luckily, the Wish videos started to get viral & gained millions of views, not just in the Philippines but all around the world. Then KZbin reactors started reacting to them. Then these singers, as well as the Wish bus, started to becom popular. These singers, b4 they became famous, did have a small fan base bc most of them joined singing contests on TV, but none of them won the grand prizes. The Philippine music industry basically ignored these singers for many years, but only started paying attention to them when the rest of the world started admiring them on KZbin & Wish Bus. The music industry in PH is hard to penetrate. They have A-listers who have dominated the scene for 20-30 yrs, & if you're a new upcoming singer, it's just hard to get inside bc they have to maintain the status quo.

Must have listened to this song a zillion times, and never tire listening to it. It’s just that feel good song performed by extremely talented artists who together made stunning music ! Seriously top 3 of my favorite Wishbus performances and that is not an east choice to make on that bus. Loved your analysis, haven’t seen it done this way, which makes this performance that much more special!

Sadly the keyboardist, Teban Aquino , passed away from Covid in 2021. Ryssi Avila and the other fella....is Ralph Padiernos, but can't recall his last name....( finally found his last name ).
