My obsession is to learn how to mix my own drums to the best of my ability. I have already come quite far from where I started. I too post videos on KZbin and hope to grow my channel to one day make it my job.

Thanks for this. Gave me an internal push that I needed for this next year. Randomly talking with a long-distance bandmate last year we both discovered we both watch all your videos. Small world moment

I love it, that’s so cool to hear. Small world indeed!

2:19 I say all the time, “There’s a difference between what you can do and what you are, I can play guitar, bass, piano, but I AM a drummer.” I like your way of saying that better.

Hey Man ! Thank you for this ! I was so upset about my work lately trying to replicate the things that other people do when it comes to making music this thing led me to procrastination because everything that I've so far is not working at all. today I woke up and said to myself that I will spend some time watching videos of how to do it while finishing my coffee then I will go back to the project, luckily I stumbled to this video ( btw I've been a subscriber for the past 4 years now and I love your studio tours) this one motivates me to continue and obsessed about what I love, I forgot why I'm doing this and thank you fort reminding me !! Love you man and more power to your channel !!! sending love from the Philippines

Thanks man, I appreciate it. I definitely go through similar stuff. Keep at it!

I am OBSESSED with writing, playing guitar, singing, recording, and mixing! That’s cool that you have covers, I do that as well to try to increase my skill level for all the above!

This video is honestly inspiring to me. I, same as you, love recording music and working in the studio, and its what I want to be doing full time. But, I don't know enough people that would be interested to work with me even if I feel like I'm more than capable of doing professional work people would be happy with. I am however a hermit on social media and don't ever show what I'm really capable of, even though I love youtube. I have thought for a long time about posting on instagram and maybe youtube to get some work, and clearly the online presence worked for you and gotten you to a point where you're doing this full time. Its probably what I should be focused on doing. Thanks for the insight 🤘

Man. I swear we are the same person when it comes to the whole drums/recording vs gtr/vocals thing lol. I have a stack of demos that I have had on the backburner for months now, but I think it's time to finally turn them into something that I release into the world

Andrew! I am a huge fan and long time viewer, thank you so much for all the content you make! You truly are a mentor to so many people in the space. I’d say you should upload to SoundCloud, it’s super easy to use and free for creators to upload music. It’s also very quick to publish, and I use it for all my covers/ideas

@@itsstudiotime you should do a video on the economics of your full time gig. How you balance work/family time and how you’ve made ends meet. I’m only a part time studio I’d love to go full time just a lot of unknowns when you leave the 9-5 and family insurance behind

Off topic but if you haven't tried the Lewitt 640 Rex you should. It's aimed a t kick drum but it has a small diaphragm condenser and a large diaphragm dynamic in one mic and in perfect phase. It has two outputs one one mic. Some really like it for guitar cabs but I can tell you it is versatile.

Where do you start though, in my 30s obsessed with recording and all of the production. Starting over for a second or third time in 2 years and really thinking about moving to Nashville to be "obsessed" but the where to go and start is just overwhelming lol
@brajoco219Ай бұрын
Would love to hear your cover... so please post it somewhere 👍 My obsession is getting my space set-up to the point where I can just pick up an instrument, and it's ready to record.... that and put out an EP of originals. Ambitious...🤓

Well that’s definitely possible, Hang around here long enough and that will become a reality.

Well mine is to start a recording studio for people who think they have a talent for singing or playing music and need some help putting songs together to showcase what they can do at a price point most people can afford so my studio is in my basement and it’s your typical Michigan basement and not even a finished basement but I have a live room (no treatment) a small control room (65% treated) and a vocal booth (100% treated) but I can only track 16 sources at once (about 5 musicians) including drums but I see mostly rappers or singers who want to sing with beats/tracks and occasional rock/blues bands but I’ve been a singer song writer most of my life and I tried to make a career in music and although I had some success in the 80’s and 90’s I just want to help people who want to get started without being taken advantage of so all I’m asking is to pay me before we get started be on time and if for any reason you can not make the appointment call and let me know if not it’s your loss I’ll reschedule but I don’t refund so don’t waste my time I promise I won’t waste yours
