I believe this is the key of Gmaj, so you can play A Dorian or e Aolian

+OOZE PLAYS definitely - but watch out for that A major chord!

Gmaj has the same notes as pentatonic Em notes. It's not E dorian as posted.. Most people here look for the minor.

E Aeolian and when the A chord comes I switch to E Dorian, which seems to be a good solution ;)

+SEBASTION HAWK Why would you think that? G Mixolydian can't have an A chord in it. If anything it's G Lydian.

whenever I have played wywh, it uses all of the notes of the G myxalydian- put it on your player, listen to it, and, play along...starting from the very beginning...the little riffs are in Gmyxalydian...and, yes, I know, Gmyxalydian has an Aminor chord in it, not an A major, as it is essentially the same as an Aminor scale...

+Otro Guey yes, in this example, how they are playing this, it would be Glydian or A myxalydian...but, wish you were here is not played like this, as it is shown here...

That's actually E Aeolian you're trying to say

Sorry, but E Aeolian has an A minor chord, this progression has an A major chord, which is clearly E Dorian. However, you are free to play any mode you think sounds good!
