I got an Epiphone 58 V with Toneriders, a Marshall Origin a tubescreamer and Rat and an aweful life to wail about. Life is good! Relatively speaking...
@nowyoushred9 сағат бұрын
Yeah, I definitely have a soft spot for the Rat!
@221b-l3t3 сағат бұрын
@nowyoushred I didn't get along with it in the beginning but now with an old style Marshall, gain around noon and volume on max, with a TS pushing the Rat, I'm getting fantastic tones.

This sounds soooo amazing! Love it!!! The only thing for me personal is playing C Dorian on Cm. My ears tell me that it doesn't sound right. Aolian sounds better to them (my ears). Theoretic must be right so I can't explain it for myself.

IS all this stuff on the screen supposed to mean something?
@bluesman754 күн бұрын
Yep It’s the fretboard. The blue notes on the fret board are G major Pentatonic. Which is E minor Pentatonic . Learn relative major and minors . You could be like Billy Gibbons and stick with major Pentatonic .. it sound great . Not the most fancy approach but I like it .
@shawnogg82083 күн бұрын
There are many videos where it only says „G-Major“, but there are chord modulations or key changes in the track. The videos here are the complete opposite by having all the information on the screen. Very helpful for learning. Ideally you don’t need it because you hear it all or just need the chord sequence to know that on the A chord G-Lydian is the scale, which actually means the C of G-Major becomes C#, so don’t play C on the A-chord.

Trying to get the theory on that E Locrian scale. It’s a F major relative with the flatted B. The E minor pentatonic has the natural B. Would you consider it a , the B flat, a passing tone?

why we add major 2nd at fifth chord? what is the theory behind it? i understand the added notes at 1st and 4th chords are coming from dominant seventh. but at 5th chord it does not fit imo. shouldn't we play major seventh F# in this scale? thanks!

The major second in G is A, that’s the 5th of the V chord!

*I remain one of the rare shred and sweep players on Earth that hates modulation, delay and reverb effects and without them, it ultimately makes you a better guitarist.* I obviously use dirty gain and I might have reverb at about 3 and on rare occasion, crank it up to 6, but 90% of the time I just won't wet the signal with time and modulation effects.
