Been seeing some comments asking for a part two so I'll say it now: There will be no part two because there is no sequel to the original witch hunt video (that i know of at least). This video was simply made to be a wangxian version of the original video. Thank you for all your lovely comments!

I mean when he's also participating in the persecution of this person it's a different type of Wei Ying if you catch my drift. Considering he was convinced it was curse and that his feels weren't real he likely just feels betrayed and sad but he could step in and stop all of it if he wanted you know cuz he is the prince. If he gets in the way they are not going to persist in Killing Wei Ying because they don't want Lan Zhan to be harmed and also he is like one of the most powerful people in his country.

I think at first Lan Zhan felt betrayed but once Wei Ying flew away he knew that he was an angel and the reason why Wei Ying's wings turned black is all Lan Zhan's fault. If Lan Zhan stood up for Wei Ying I doubt his wings would've turned. So when Lan Zhan screamed "Wei Ying" it's more of a heartbroken "it's my fault" scream

Bro imagine how Jiang Cheng would react to this happening. Like obviously this is an AU so there would be no reason from what we know for an estrangement between him and Wei Ying. So catching wind of or witnessing his adopted brother getting burned at the stake would be probably really traumatizing. And if we assume that like Wei ying Jiang Cheng and their family are also witches I honestly see a war starting over this or at least some form of nasty curse on the Lan kingdom and it's descendants.

I am now coming up with a convoluted plot, where Jin Guangyao originally had some sort of relationship with Lan Xichen , but something happened maybe mistaken identity because lxc and lwj cannonically look like twins, so jgy settles for lwj in some trauma angst way and is like I need to keep him away from wwx. Because wwx probably has some sort of terrible reputation and has done some shady things and yeah. I can't think of anymore but I'm always a fan of works where it shows the parallels between jgy and wwx, and lwj with lxc. I also love how this fits cannon really well with the Jin sect kind of setting up the witch hunt for Wwx and I love the image of jgy leading an execution.

I didn't immediately start sobbing. By my heart wasn't just wrenched and twisted and squeezed the heck out of my body upon even seeing these two and this song. Ooh. Your art is amazing! I loved this but here are some ways I would've changed the animatic and translation to fit Mo Dao Zu Shi: 1- Keep the original translation of "he kept all the magic out of sight" which is "for the one who was cursed by the witch's illusionary magic, the happy times will soon end" because not only does it sound better but it also refers to their story- other people are speaking of Lan Zhan, who was "tricked" (according to both the crowds and Lan Qiren specifically) and will now be miserable either from realizing he was tricked or because of how he was whipped and ultimately deprived of Wei Wuxian. It's also foreshadowing, like "here come the 13 years of grieving." 2- Some other translations that could've been kept are how at 2:35 it's Wei Wuxian saying "let everything burn then" then after, instead of him saying you fed them dirty lies it's talking about those fools in third person, kinda like the narrative is admitting they're fools (like the novel always did) and also because, in the novel especially, it wasn't really Jim Guangyao *lying* that led to Wei Wuxian's demise. 3- The ribbon floating scene featuring Lan Wangji's ribbon inste ad of Wei Wuxian's because of its lovely romantic significance- as opposed to a simple red ribbon- and because Wei Wuxian actually kept touching it and taking it and messing with it. 4- I think a more Buddhist hand gesture with the hands would be better- also Jin Guangyao's face after praying should probably seem malicious because his prayers are actually for evil and for his own sake, plus they're lies as opposed to any real concern. 5- Lan Wangji's blade should probably just be Bichen 6- The final translation I would change is the last lyric- I don't know who he would say this to, as no one tells their story or even really cares about what happened to Wei Wuxian. Instead the original is "don't you forget the reason for your bitter tears" which could refer very accurately to Jiang Cheng, who bitterly cries after wronging Wei Wuxian for thinking he's wronged him (though I guess he isn't in the story). It's also more powerful and is kind of like "let this be a lesson" or "don't forget what happened here." It could also refer to Lan Wangji, who is the only one crying here, and who cried so bitterly for Wei Wuxian after the siege. He remembered what happened and after he was reborn, went to save him every time. 7- Last but the opposite of least, the biggest grievance I gave with this and something that made me kinda mad watching it- Lan Wangji hurting WWX. (Tbc)
