"The difference between a great song that is on classic rock radio and a great song that isn't is somebody didn't get paid." LOL What a great line. Totally describes why it seems so easy to stumble across SOOOO many great classic rock bands and tunes that you have never heard!!

Just an ordinary collection. Nothing special really

Thanks for your concern, but my collection is a working library. I regularly spin $100 albums in public bars. These were bought to be listened to and shared, not hidden behind glass to never be breathed upon. I do take good care of the vinyl itself, but the jackets are art to be enjoyed and they are doing their job of protecting the LPs.

Bella B He had a handful of $100 dollar records in there. Wouldn’t call it ‘ordinary’.

Wow why is Peter tosh and scientist in the weirdo section????
@WitchMountainBand7 жыл бұрын
That's the section for all styles that I don't have much of. If I owned 30 dub/reggae records, they'd go in their own section. It's no judgement on the style.

My neighbor's got 36,000 records and he DJ's, but, he'll buy extra copies of the stuff he uses at work and keeps them in his "dance boxes" and leaves all the collectible copies filed on the shelves. I keep all my stuff filed alphabetically, by label, too, but, I don't DJ. I've got 51,000 records.
@Ididntaskforahandleyoutube6 жыл бұрын
51,000 records? Holy God. I'll send you cash ahead of time if you want to send me a few random albums that you really recommend. I've done it a few hundred times from KZbin comment sections. I don't even look at the name of the artist/band, I just start spinning "wax". It's really fun and surprisingly, I've only been screwed about a dozen times. I've also been introduced to some great stuff.

I've picked up three Hitler speeches LPs over the 25 years or so I've been collecting. When you see something odd like that for £1 (about $1.25) in a charity or junk shop regardless of what you think of the content you just can't leave it there, especially as in this PC age many shops would simply bin something like that than risk offending idiots. That said over the last 15 years or so a combination of too many people looking, too many shops discovering the price guide and an ever shrinking supply now means I can usually go a month or two without a "fun" cheap find.

I never got into the Black Sabbath stuff without Ozzy or Dio. But they do have some shitty stuff like TYR and didn't like Forbidden at all. I totally hear about the discovery. I live in Niagara Falls, NY. There are no more record stores anywhere around me anymore which fucking sucks!!! The last one was called Record Theater it was in Buffalo, NY. They closed about a year ago or so. I don't even know where the closest record store is to me??? At least 100+ miles away or more....

why would you put your plastic sleeves on like that? when you file your records the sleeve just gets pushed out.
@demagmusic7 жыл бұрын
I'm sure he does it so he doesn't have to pull the record jacket entirely out of the sleeve to get into it. I would even guess that his outer sleeve, cardboard jacket and inner sleeve all point the same way so he can just pull the LP right out... It makes sense as a DJ if you need quick access (my DJ friends do the same). Of course at home that means they're rolling out of the back every time you pull one off the shelf....the sleeve bunches up, etc.
@GmGrayfox7 жыл бұрын
I don't sleeve em that way, it bugs the shit outta me. To each his own I suppose.
@WitchMountainBand7 жыл бұрын
I used to be very anal about how I oriented the sleeves. Then I started to DJ 2-4 nights a week for years on end...
@nocturnal-io9vq6 жыл бұрын
You want to use the plastic sleeves to keep the covers from getting worn. Looked to me like Nate was just trying to go quick, and naturally the sleeves get bunched up. Adjustments can be made later...
