the game is very good,i agree,but i could use some tweaks and improvements for example i was stuck in vizima for a solid 5 hours confused because i didnt know what to do.That's basically the only problem,not knowing what to do or where to go most of the time.

I don't see the styles in the UI and it looks like regular Witcher 3 combat. No reason for them to bring back the combat styles. They held the game back in my opinion. Picking the right style to maximize damage per second was too rock paper scissors like and then you just stack on buffs with potions and skill points. All you do is click to time combos and hope your stats are better than the enemies so you kill them before running out of health. Great story and world building and I loved the game, but Witchers are master swordsmen. The combat needs to be live, active. Witcher 2 and 3 just gave you tools like dodge, roll, block, parry, counter, fast attack and strong attack (with signs peppered in of course) and made you much more mobile. It's more skill. It's like comparing World of Warcraft to Dark Souls. Potions and spells and bombs are still important for planning your hunts and fights, but the combat actually makes you act more like a skilled fighter than a robot.

it's only in english version, polish dubbing is preatty good in witcher 1, I haven't noticed any issues with it when I played it, other than when I listen and watch it here

This is the exact same voice acting as in The Witcher 1, but the Remastered Edition. They recorded large parts of the voice over to improve it.

I agree, it was quite amazing in Polish version. Characters were fleshed-out nicely because of that, everyone had a LOT of personality, especially later in the game (with spot-on voice for Geralt and the perfection of Talar!). On the other hand, English voices fall flat and it's difficult to listen to those. I could have never imagined how much different the game is because of that - quite meh in English while incredibly engaging and exciting in Polish, simply because of the voices - it's difficult to enjoy the game without great characters and their quirks after all!

Actually, what I love most about triss character in TW3 is her voice. The CDPR's devs made it so soft and mesmerizing that portrayed perfectly her apperance and traits. If they keep the same voice in TW1 and 2 then the difference between triss and yen ingame that they want to highlight would not have the same effect.

What is really weird is, when wandering around Kaer Morhen looking for the Wolf-school armour set I mentally began plotting the different places that corresponded to the courtyard fight in W1. for that matter I really wanted to go downstairs to the circle of the elements in the cellar and was very disappointed when the path was blocked by a permanent grating. It is amazing how congruent the two are, despite the programmers having to take better computer technology and a different scale in to account. It actually feels like putting on your glasses after playing for a while without them. There was a definite amount 'ahhh... so this is how it was *supposed* to look all along!'

W1 combat is truly awful W2 is okay ish but i disagree about W3. i think its pretty good if you play on Deathmarch (also not using op builds helps ).

i think you mistake difficulty with good and plenty combat mechanics. in W3 you have many options and builds but it can become easy on anything below Deathmarch, so to me its more of a game being too easy than "bad combat"

Yeah--I agree it all rests in a good place at the moment and I would rather it stayed there instead of a rushed and botched W4. However CDPR have shown us what reliable custodians they are and I think they can be trusted to eventually make more without messing it up. I do also get what their chap said back when people first began clamouring for more--that they've been living and breathing this world for ten years and they all need to do something else for a while to decompress--hence the 'Cyberspace' game. However, commercially and from a business standpoint I don't think they actually have a choice. They *will* release another Witcher and probably _several_. What worries me far more is the Netflix show that is coming... That could very, *very* easily go all to shit and I just hope if it happens that it doesn't backfire to destroy the whole franchise.

I mean, we have Kaer Morhen, act I could be in White Orchard. Parts Novigrad would serve as Wizima (or import the map, which is what I'd love to see). As for act IV's Murky Waters the village from Hearts of Stone would potentially work. And of course we have an epilogue map with blizzard all over.

OMG this is amazing! I remember this when playing W1. I remember Triss with long hair looking vastly different from the Triss we know in W2 and W3. W1 may have had a rather bad combat mechanic but the RPG element of preparing for a monster fight by drinking potions and reading monster books was such a fun experience. imo anyways.

This is absolutely amazing! Incredible work by the modder(s) and great job on the video! I know many have never played Witcher 1 and never will unfortunately and that it may be difficult for some to appreciate its greatness considering the combat, visuals and controls take time getting used to, however, I urge any Witcher fan with a PC to give it a chance, or another :) Witcher 1 for me has a particular magic and unique atmosphere that neither TW2 or TW3 could fully capture or emulate. To be fair, each Witcher game has its own unique qualities, atmosphere with pros/cons. IMHO, each game equally stands on its own apart from the trilogy, tough to pick a favorite when to me they're all amazing.

Wow. That's incredible. I haven't compared it frame by frame but even the camera work seems identical to the original. Brings back good memories, although, as i despise polish dubbing most of the time, Witcher sounds undoubtebly the best in my native language and, sadly, other versions are missing out on intricacies of polish language. Nevertheless, it was a very nostalgic trip back in time, what, 10 years? Jesus, how time flies... And this soundtrack is gold. The best from the series.

I mean, I understand your point. But keep in mind that most of the planet does not speak polish. And just learning polish to play a videogame... it seems a little bit extreme. Polish literature is world-wide known, but still... Witcher 3 moved millions of people around the planet. It is not the words or the lenguage, it is the message what matters. Don't focus on the polish or non-polish, focus on the fact that Witcher 3 is one of the best videogames of all time.

Only thing I want changed from the first 2 is the combat change. Everything else can be 'tolerated'. In fact, the first Witcher is actually superior in terms of 'atmosphere'. It was a horror vibe to it which I love.

No one is encouraged to speak with CD Projekt Red asking permission to make remakes of Witcher 1 & 2 in the 3 engine? Bethesda allowed a group of developers to make remakes of Morrowind & Oblivion in Skyrim engine (aka Skywind & Skyblivion) and the quality of these fan-mades can't be higher. I think this franchise deserves the remakes of 1 & 2 for people who never played these games and started with 3 (like me).

This is so fcking cool. For those of us who are still in the process of reading the books, getting back into the Witcher universe because of the Netflix show, and, for me personally, can't really remember the details from way back when I played Witcher 1... this was really well done and pretty damn informative. It makes me hella interested in what Season 2 of the live show will cover... and how I REALLY want CDPR to - after Cyberpunk 2077 and it's DLCs - go BACK to this universe and continue the story with another massive game!! Whether it's a Ciri centric adventure, or even a new story where (maybe) you create your own witcher - choose your sex, your fighting style, your school (and have separate, unique prologue's like DA Origins!!). Thanks for this, to all of you guys who made it!

As far as I know CDPR wants to create next game in Witcher universe when they complete Cyberpunk. However it will not be "Witcher 4" (Geralt as main character) but game which is located in this universe. I suppose they will go with Ciri as main character this time or maybe with few characters at all. Actually, it could be nice idea as side off game however I would like to see "Witcher 4" with Geralt as main character, of course with his friends and lover - my choice is Triss because of many reasons and CDPR's design for this wonderful lady... :) The potential problem is that CDPR said Geralt history is over and they do not plan creating new story with him as main character. I can understand their decision and somehow it is good idea for *some time* but I hope Geralt will come back. Personally, I think Witcher without characters such as Geralt, Triss, Vesemir, Zoltan, Dandelion (and others important characters) is not good. For me these characters are the core of this universe. I think timeline of games could be like that: - 2020 - Cyberpunk 2077 - 2022 - 2025 - side off Witcher game which is not "Witcher 4" but is very similar to Witcher 3 - 2025 - 2030 - next Cyberpunk - 2030 - Witcher 4, Geralt, Triss, Vesemir, Zoltan, Dandelion (and others important characters) are back

I think it is doable but requires more people, learning Radish Modding Tools (and other useful tools), time, some luck and of course determination.

Thats not even the point. The combat system is not great. It's static and pretty broken, but it does its job alright within the game. Witcher 1 is really not a "git gud" - style game you play for mastering the combat. The biggest problem is that it is very different. As someone used to more modern games that use better combat systems, this might turn you away before you get fully immersed. Luckily the atmosphere makes up for it and once you are drawn in, you can see past the flawed combat and enjoy the story for the masterpiece that it is. Its really interesting. CDPR was deeply passionate about making an epic videogame without really knowing much about games in the first place and ended up with something flawed yet beautiful. They then proceeded to improve themselves wherever they lacked expertise and by the 3rd game they outshined basically the whole industry. It really shows, how passion, the right mindset and an open mind can make up for an initial lack of experience, technical skills and ressources and where the will to improve and pushing yourself cen get you. The witcher games could never have been done this way with a typical short sighted, purely profit oriented production company above it. This takes the mad passion and love only artists and athletes know.

You know what goes great with this mod? The Witcher 1 face mod and the starting Gear to Manticore set mod that way you almost get the full Witcher 1 feel. Now if only the author of this mod could fully remake the game.

@@AnonymousDeveloper1 CD projekt Red was going to release modding tool for The Witcher 3 I don't remember what their reason was for not doing so I just remember that they were going to Kind of reminds me of when Dragon Age 2 was going to have modding tools but on the day they were supposed to be released they were delayed and then BioWare eventually said we were never going to release modding tools
