To have plotted out all of that and tracked all the statuses in game to trigger the correct dialogues and options is extremely difficult (not technically just from a details POV). Getting that properly tested a tester, live or automated, to walk all the possible branches and check all the critical interactions to verify that things happened properly. As someone who has done SW project management just the QA on that is a huge undertaking.

There's another small mistake/oversight. You know how Triss, Keira and Roche all have unique dialogues you only get if you progress the main quest to the point of asking them to help with Brothers in Arms, but their personal quests are still outstanding? I discovered that Cerys actually has one of these too. It only works if you follow her back to the guest room she's staying in while in Svorlag AFTER you finish the Possession quest. The prompt to ask for her help will show up there. And she'll promise to help when the matter of the crown is settled. But you'll still have to ask her the same as you normally do later on, and she doesn't indicate any awareness that she already promised her help. Even though she technically changes her answer to "Go ask Hjalmar." I don't know if it's just an artefact that the devs didn't remove because no play testers actually stumbled into the old version still in the game, or if maybe it's part cut content where you could've had Cerys at Kaer Mohen. ETA - I thought about it, and I think Triss's dialogue has a similar issue. As her going away scene stays the same as it always does for the ship sailing scene. Even though she already knows about the Wild Hunt coming to Kaer Morhen, and says that if Geralt helps, she can do both. But then all her getting on the ship dialogue still seems like she's saying goodbye forever and going to Kovir. Which is odd because Keira's entire dialogue changes if you send her to Kaer Morhen when the Hunt is coming, but Triss always shows up at Kaer Morhen anyway.

Too easy? This is one of the hardest games I've played. The combat system is quite difficult. One enemy I can handle, even two. But once the game starts clustering enemies together, that's when it gets intense and there's no attacks to deal with groups.

This has to be the best video research video made anywhere on youtube. The amount of interest reseaching the possible outcomes, and playing like it was not supposed to, and, actually finding that the developers have already prepapred for all of it.. man, I praise both you and the developers. I would've never thought of going to skellige first.

(just kidding, this game is awesome!) There were a lot of details that I wished to see from this game, like what happens when you don't see Uma before going to Skellige, but could not do it thanks to university. Thank you agaon for sharing this with us!

I've always felt that the main weakness of Withcer 3 was the kind of dissonance between the slow open world part and the fast paced main questline. Now I see the main storyline quests are not as linear as I thought, which is pretty dope. Thank you for taking so much time to work on that!

What a giant load of work that is - imagine sitting there dividing dialogue lines options piece by piece and trying to accomodate for whatever weird shit the player might do but still trying to strive for uniqueness and consistency of the story. Surely, a lot of these were found by testers that actually had to do a lot of weird shit to report incosistencies, but working out each case individually instead of coming up some generic lines or just dropping some - that's such an overwhelming task, damn. And of course the fact that all of these player choices had to be repeated and compiled into one video by xLetalis is insane. "Milking the same game for content" actually got a positive spin to it thanks to videos like these. Huge W to xLetalis and whoever helped him along the way - you people are crazy but very dedicated

Woah, that's a lot of details missed with all these variations. Several scenarios to explore but damn, that scene of Geralt turning his head (if player doesn't choose dialogue long enough when with Yen at Skellige), and seeing Cerys that must be my favorite (it's just very subtle, that scene insertion). So you've went through the playing the main game out of order, with different dialogue/scenes results. Are there similar scenarios for the 2 expansions Heart of Stone & Blood and Wine?

Is it really "not intended" though? Considering all the dialogue, they definitely DID intend for playthroughs of a different course. More so, in the case of UMA who literally has a quest only accessible if you do Skellige first. Too be fair, all three of those scenes are "summarization" scenes of the game progress so far. So, dialogue-wise, must have been the most meticulously planned. They probably had the same curiosity writing the scenes, as you had watching the scenes; "What if....?" Likewise, there are different variations of the dialogue over the moving stills that appear when you transition loading screens based on progress of events that have occurred in between. I think there are 4-5 different game states that Vesemir can establish per image. Which means like 28-30 different versions of narration he can give.

The conversation with Donar contains little easter eggs to who Uma is, Donar says "this was no human" when of course he isn't he's an elf, Geralt jokes that he's looking to train a new Witcher when you later subject Uma to the Trial of the Grasses

9.55 got me. I'd never think to check every single cutscene for this type of detail, now I will. And honestly, the Witcher games are known for creating incredible details or hidden mechanics you can only appreciate. In the first game, Geralt can write a letter, choosing what to write nad send it. So simple yet so rarely games do it outsideof quests, just for the sake of immersion.
@Arionid3 жыл бұрын
Does any of that dialogue change if Geralt finishes HoS and asks GO'D for Ciri's location as a reward? Or did those first 3 main quests have to be completed first? It's been so long man this video is tempting me to replay the game.
