I don't know how I feel about Ciri being the protagonist of Witcher 4. Doing so would have to canonize that ending of the game, whereas Witcher 3 kept it open enough that any of the choices you made in Witcher 2 worked with the story of 3, and certain other decisions were able to be imported over (even if they didn't have the biggest impact). That, and the fact that Ciri isn't a traditional witcher, she didn't under go the mutations and isn't supposed to be able to take potions (except in the ending of Blood and Wine when Witcher Ciri visits your vineyard, she mentions taking Black Blood when fighting a vampire). Then again, Ciri has her elder blood powers, which could make for a different kind of interesting gameplay. But that also might feel like the kind of thing that, as a playable character, feels incredibly nerfed compared to how powerful she's supposed to be.

Let me put it this way. I want a Witcher. Is it Geralt, is it a different Witcher? Is it a different time? I don't care. I want a Witcher. Ciri... is not a Witcher... she's just been kinda raised by them I guess and all, she deserves a spin off game/series, not a sequel/reboot. I think they're gonna make you create a character, that's my bet.

​@@cenciende9401 1 and 2 were bad in a LOT of ways (even if there were great games buried beneath all the poop). They were broken, so it made sense to fix them. Witcher 3 is not broken. There's some things that could be improved, like adding some more depth to combat. The vast majority of it should mostly stay put though.

If it's just from a gameplay perspective I'd have no issue with that, as long as he specifically refers to the gameplay mechanics and not the story, themes or characters. Witcher 3 was their best game and one of the best games of all time. Following in the wake of this game is the best thing they could do.

I'd very much like to see a remake of Kotor. It is one of my favourite games, next to the FF series and Legend of dragoon. As for Tekken 8, pro tip to get more people involved could be to get rid of the in game purchases. There a probably a lot of others that agree that that kind of thing is a big deterrent. It's one of the reasons I didn't enjoy T7, because they made you pay for core characters. The Witcher 4 looks amazing just in the art styles so far and I am fully looking forward to playing the next series of games in the franchise. I am hoping that Dragon age 4 will be coming out soon too. Currently I am enjoying my first play-through of Diablo iv, which is a little overdue but was worth the wait as it's pretty good so far. Great video and thanks for the updates!

It's a game I really want to love. I've tried a bunch of times, including since the update. Sometimes I'll get a decent way through but I always end up bouncing off. Its not the games fault, I can see why people love it. Everything about it should be something I enjoy. I just always fall off. I think I'm going to try again later in the year. Maybe make it the only game I'm playing as opposed to having at least a couple at the same time.

Do people think the Witcher 4 will be a 30fps or 60fps. There using Unreal engine 5 which has much greater graphical capabilities but is also very CPU heavy which can be more of a decider for what the frame rate will be for a game. So do people think CDProject Red using Unreal engine 5 cause the Witcher 4 to be 30FPS or 60FPS or unlocked?

30fps no doubt on consoles..but on ps5 pro..when it releases mostly due to the pssr upscaling we might get a steady 60fps...not sure though it depends on how well cdpr optimises the game.

I don't think they have to reinvent the wheel but getting more involved/tactical sword combat and a revamp to potion/oil usage would be cool. It's great they're trying to evolve the Witcher 4's gameplay and not sticking to what worked the first time. Developers and publishers too often make this mistake because they're too hesitant to take risks. Witcher 3's enduring strength lays in its incredible world building and immersive dialogue/cutscenes anyway. The combat was even for the time kind of basic and monotonous. I hope they focus on spending a lot of time on polishing that, and having a lot of enemy variety. Witcher 3's wasn't bad but it relied a lot on reskins.

I think some of the magic of video games i felt growing up was that each new game in a series always felt like a brand new experience with updated and better mechanics. CD projekt red has a history of doing that with the Witcher series so i'm looking forward to where this game is going.
