Despers should have won after listening to this music again. You could play this music right now. Check the tempo.

I agree to disagree with you, both bands are great, I was a Guinness fan living in the north, it is great music by both, they do not play that anymore.

Vic, you see, I'm not the only one to mention the influence of the Cavalier's sound. Not taking anything away from Beverly and Bradley, two of the greatest pan arrangers Trinidad have ever had but the fact remains that Despers 1969 rendition of Sa Sa Ya does have a similiar sound to Cavaliers. I know how allyuh Town folks feel about South during the carnival season. One love though, One Nation under the Pan.

In the late sixties just about every steelband was influenced by Guinness Cavaliers, and resulted in a pretty radical change in the sound of the steelband, and Despers were no exception

Great rendition, however, if you listen to the phrasing you must hear the influence of Bobby and Cavaliers.

+Ngozo Saba That was not the influence of Bobby, that was pure Despers, I played, and is totally in the know of this great culture (only musical invention this century) I am a TRINIDADIAN born in a pan yard 1950, get your facts straight,, thank you

Partner, where do you think I'm from, born in 1950 in South Trinidad, don't let the name fool you, I know when it comes to Pan, Trinidad becomes two countries, but truth be told if you're not bias........
