I literally did this 3 days ago, clear coat had a reaction to the wax and grease remover and had a cracked looked affect, sanded back,cut and polished and applied some UV protectant from an old headlight restoration kit I had in the shed. Came up crystal clear, but would have preferred for them to be clear coated.

There's a 3M polishing kit that doesn't use laquer, it works just as well & the lights stay in. 1 purchase can be used 3 maybe 4 times if required. Nice result but they'll soon get stone chipped.

Gary, I've tried Rust-oleum but the result is NOT as expected, as it also faded out couple months later. Some KZbinrs recommended MAX 2K, but I think I would like to try your way ... with Eastwood though its a little expensive !

Man, I wound up with a bunch of orange peel with the Eastwood, yours look really good. BTW, in an Amazon review I saw some guy say you can put the can in the refrigerator after it’s opened and it will last a couple of weeks, but I don’t know how true that is, I didn’t try it.

Thats a great recommendation to put in the fridge to extend the cans life! I've done that with epoxy sealers so I can definitely see that working. Good call thanks for the comment!!

The car frequently sits out in the hot sun and taken down roads with too much gravel trash and so far they're holding up great!
