At this point, toss another large water tank at the end of the build by the dumps, so trucks can come in and pick up some of the excess to take to the farms, oil, wherever... everything overengineered like that just adds to the pool

Not a bad idea, but nothing else has water imports!

I thought that I knew alot about the game but i'm happy to admit. That I always learn something from your vids and you always have a 1 or 2 funny parts in it like ( wood ).

thanks for the video and great ideas. I apologize because I use google translate. But, in my opinion, such an assembly will lead to high costs of human resources, which need to be fed and watered)) + high energy consumption compared to cooling towers
@JDPlays2 жыл бұрын
Yes this is true, but what is more important the water or the higher cost? I will need the water eventually
@OhmIsFutile2 жыл бұрын
@@JDPlays Be careful with this logic, I haven't checked your specific setup but I did some math for steam from nuclear on the official discord's theorycrafting channel and came to the conclusion that it's more efficient to straight up use hi steam to desalinate water than lo or depleted when feeding back into the reactor. However, a hybrid setup is a decent compromise. In the case of nuclear, that meant 2x large cooling towers and using whatever was left over (lo or depleted) to desalinate to make up for the lost water.

I'm fairly confident you don't want that low pressure turbine on auto balance, just the 3rd and 4th high pressure turbines.
@JDPlays2 жыл бұрын
I would agree with you, but as they are all tied together it should be fine, and it hasn't faulted so far!
@SlyWolf52 жыл бұрын
@@JDPlays Method I've been using is use a pipe balancer going into the low pressure turbine, with an exhaust stack or cooling tower connected to it, priority out to the LPT and when it does go into standby, the steam bypasses it and keeps the main turbines running.
@KG_Grandpa2 жыл бұрын
the auto balance isnt needed at the piont you use all power of a line
@enire84772 жыл бұрын
@@KG_Grandpa yes, but he isn't using all the power on that line, which I think means it can backup with low pressure steam.

That powerplant looks way better than mine! im probably going to copy yours once i start over. not enough room on my island atm because i didnt have the forsight to use more excavators so i have big honking mountians in the way.
@KG_Grandpa2 жыл бұрын
Nice build, doing that from the start cost a little bit more people but the water is nice i allways run short. That clean water storage needs to alarm you when 75% full, it will never be empty.

More power, more building.
@glasseyemarduke37462 жыл бұрын
Like the power build a lot. Only change i would do is add a steam balancer before the desalination attached to a large gass vent and set the desalination plants to 2 in stead of 1 to help with brownouts which i have had a few too many... would also do the same for exhaust just in case. But i have to go the extra mile to try to idiot proof my builds. Sadly the game invents a beter idiot every time lol
@JDPlays2 жыл бұрын
Yes games like this do tend to point out a flaw in our plans. Problem with adding balancers, is when you get a brown out, the balancer needs power.... oof
@glasseyemarduke37462 жыл бұрын
Agree. Its why i still have a half mw worth of diesel generators with a couple mk2 tanks of fuel to help pull me out of my many brownouts. All paused so they dont take people or maintenance but that means i have to turn them on...and off...lol

@@JDPlays There is not a good chance we have watched the other 24 episodes.... that's not how KZbin has ever worked. You showed up on a search randomly...I stumbled on you...thats normally how youtubers are discovered...word of mouth or youtube bingeing. What I notice with some of the best channels is wait till the 3/4 mark ot 50% to ask for subs and bells...its more classy and gives the watcher a chance to get invested in your content. Instead of right out of the gate. 2 cents.
