Joey and Rory Feek rose from unknowns to winners of the ACM Award for Top New Vocal Duo a few years back. But earlier this year, just as their album, "Hymns That Are Important to Us," debuted at the top of the country charts, Joey lost a two-year battle with cancer. Anthony Mason talks with Rory about his loss, and about his new documentary, "To Joey, With Love."

I totally agree. Joey had big shoes to fill. She was extremely beautiful and full of love. As a couple, they just completed one another. I cannot imagine Rory looking at another woman the same way he looked at Joey. It was a beautiful love story that will never truly die.

I'm not much of a sentimental man.. but you can see so much love in his eyes when he speaks about her.. every man in this world wishes to have a woman like that.. you can see how broken hearted he is and the amount of pain he has in his eyes, but he knows that deep down, the voice of his wife will ring forever in the ears of his daughter and her fans. I don't know what breaks my heart so much, is it that i'm jealous that he found a woman he loved that much, or is it because we lost such a wonderful voice and soul... or maybe both...

I absolutely love Joey and Rory. I lost my son and father this year. i also lost my sister to colon cancer at the age of 43 nine years ago. I have always had faith in God but watching them with all of their faith helped me so much. I feel my faith is stronger.

I went and saw To Joey, With Love last night in a special showing at the theater. She was such an incredible woman, and it seemed as thought her life was just beginning when it came to an end so quickly.... It was so heartbreaking watching these days with these beautiful people. I am 44 and after delivering my baby girl recently I also had cervical cancer found and I’m grappling with the beginning of that journey. I was reminded of Joey and Rory and was so happy to see that he recently remarried and is helping to run a traditional 1 room schoolhouse. If I lived in that area (we are just over the mountains in western NC) my wounded warrior husband and I would love our 3 children still in our home to attend the school. This family has taught many people about love through action. Thank you Feeks family.❤

five months is nothing when you have lost someone that close to you. it takes years and you never really get over it. the depth of the grief matches the love. I hope his three lovely daughters are of great comfort to him.

and love still grows if you can remember the love you chose to share. but you have to chose it. if you chose to forget the love is lost in space and time. know do i know i have walked a parallel trail. i married my dearest life partner jane frances bebee-waterschoot. we gotha married on june 26, 1999 at about 11:00. the wedding was schedule to start at 10:00 on what was the hottest Saturday on record in berlin Connecticut usa. and instead of the groom being late the bride was exactly a half hour late which is jane time at least for church services that was reminded by a church friend who told me not that long ago that they set time by when jane made it to church and the time was that no one else would be later. the pastor mr david christensen could finish the family portion of mass and release the children for christen education and those left in the congregation would hear the adult messages. i guess i had to learn the hard way. jane and i tagged teamed teaching christian ed. to second graders and if i needed to photo copy materials for class i had to go in separate vehicles. me in my truck and her in her suv or accord or hrv and she would be at church at time for class. i can laugh now but now if remember now or changed my story to add a comical note. my wing man and best man and my only brother who was my goose man in my top gun story. my brother was married on june 25, 1983. and like maxwell smart from get smart. would you believe my jane asked my brother and his wife for permission to get married on the 26th ( side notes jane's birthday is april 26 and i am to fool to fall in love with a dreamer and possibly a schemer or a mistermeter . janes homestead is number 56 and i was born in 1956 and she in 1955. and for those who need a laugh she was a cougar type lady who was short enough to qualify for a little old told me when i was in early high school that my true love would be much shorter than me . and she was about 5 ft and i am about 6 ft 6in and bullet proof to nerf bullets. if i want to annoy her i take off my shoes and put knees on shoes and kiss my true love eye to eye cheek to cheek. nap time for bonzo.

I saw the movie this week. "To Joey with Love" 9-20-16 A beautiful documentary all written, directed & published By Rory Feek and it was really Beautiful. I don't know how He did it just 6 Mo. since Her passing. It kept Him with Her by producing it. I am looking forward to His book now. R.I.P. It also contains a death, one where the Word of God came here as a man and lived sin free, then gave his life on the cross so that we might repent and not fall short of the Glory Of God. His resurrection 3 days later conquered death, and before He ascended into Heaven He left with us the Holy Spirit to guide us and fill us, so that we might love one another. These two beautiful people personify that commandment. They so obviously loved each other as well as others. God Bless You!
