Hello! I'm Andy - a semi-professional singer-songwriter from the UK, based in Germany. I'm a solo artist as well as vocalist of a rock band. I also teach English Language at university level.
Due to covid-19 restrictions forcing an online semester on us, I recently held a special online version of my course "The Language of Songwriting." Part of the final project included the option of making a reaction/review video to a song that my students particularly enjoy, discussing what elements of the song(writing) are special to them. I never give out tasks I'm not willing to do myself, so I recorded one of my own (Ghost Love Score by Nightwish, also on my channel).
I put it on KZbin for fun to see whether there was interest in this kind of video, and I was really pleasantly surprised at the positive responses! So I've gone ahead and made some more! WT has two video DVDs with live choir/orchestra: "Black Symphony", from The Heart of Everything Tour, and "Let Us Burn", which has an abbreviated (about 90 minutes) concert called "Elements" (this show), plus their Hydra tour concert (again about 90 minutes). It's a shame that after all the time and money spent putting on this special concert to celebrate the band's 15rh anniversary that somebody completely botched the Blu-ray and DVD release. Not only is the audio sub par with even the 5.1 track being highly compressed, the icing on the cake was the rather crude removal of a whopping 7 songs from the concert, most of them fan favourites. All of it seemingly done to allow the 80 minutes that was left to be squeezed onto a single CD and to have a matching tracklist on all 3 formats, the CD edition at least sounds good though.
