Withings Steel HR Sport vs Steel HR | Full Comparison

We compare the new Withings Steel HR Sport smartwatch, launched September 2018, with the original Steel HR (rebranded the Nokia Steel HR just last year). What's the difference between the new Sport fitness tracker and the first Steel watch, which you can still grab for £170 UK?
The Steel HR Sport costs £190, just a little more, yet offers some cool new features. You get connected GPS support, tracking of even more activities and VO2 fitness measurement. Both Withings watches boast sleek stainless steel design, a digital display and full notifications support. Plus the Steel HR Sport and the original Nokia Steel HR use the same Health app.
Which is the best fitness smartwatch, the new Withings Sport model or the standard Steel HR? Well, the 2018 tracker is only a little more expensive, yet boasts more features. So it's an easy one for us.

I've tried both and my main issue with the Steel HR is that it just feels too petite for my wrist (IMO). The extra few mm on the HR Sport really makes a difference for wrist feel.

I'm actually curious about this, there's a couple animated displays on the website showing scrolling text-- can you actually read out text messages on the watch without pulling out the phone?

I have the Withings Steel HR which has now been updated to provide exactly the same functionality as the Steel HR Sport except the VO2 max feature. That means it now has the excellent connected GPS and the full range of sport options.That feature is, I suspect, of no interest to the majority (including me) so I will stick with what I've got.

@Sam Fisher I have no problems with condensation with my Steel Hr and I usually wear it in the shower or bath. I love it and get many compliments on its looks.

After all these years, likely still the best-looking hybrid out there. However, if you are looking for sleep tracking and you don't sleep your full 6-8 hours at night, this is not for you. It doesn't record any sleep that is below 3 hours. So, if your sleep is fragmented in several parts throughout the day and night (like mine due to work), stick with the chunky but reliable Fossil HR Collider or its clone, the Skagen HR Jorn. They both record sleep as short as 1 hour.

@@johnhe-yump2938 I bought Steel HR. It does all what it says. Only one thing I found not good for me was I opt for Dark face watch and I cannot see time at night. White face one may be better in that case. I used it while showering, washing, swimming at sea, named it, used all the times and never have any problem. Battery last about 4 week and charge in few hours. No other watch has so powerful battery and real water proofing.

Buenas noches, tal vez alguien pueda ayudarme. Acabo de comprar en una tienda online este producto. He recibido algo...parecido. En la caja no aparece como hr sport ni multisport, solamente como hr. Al abrirlo encuentro un producto similar, casi igual, la esfera añade abajo 5 ATM, la marca está escrita toda en negro, sin la letra y en rojo... Qué ocurre? Gracias.
