I'm so glad I held onto all of my underscrub long sleeves. They're so helpful with dressing modestly and still keeping cool. Interestingly enough, I actually feel cooler dressing modestly than last summer in short sleeves.

A good hack is applying anti perspirant and then baby powder to all the places where you sweat a lot, it helps keep you more dry and feel better!

Wool is actually naturally thermoregulating! So something with a bit of wool in the blend or a very thin wool material is an amazing fabric for summer time. It works a but like active wear, keeping your body temperature at a natural level - so both warming and cooling 🥰 also wool has antibacterial properties!

ik this video was made a while back but I just wanted to mention that on amazon (i think) or something like that, there are these sleeve things, s for example, if you were wearing a t shirt but you wanted to cover up but also stay cool underneath, you can just pop those on your arms (not sure if they do legs) and the rest of your body would stay nice and cool. But yeah, that's what I use and so far, it's been great!

great tips, and loose clothes on a hot day is how anybody has survived since time began! I definitely prefer loose woven linen shirts and pants, so that's a no brainer. I'm trying to work out my very first hijab in the summer. Sounds like a cotton/linen gauze fabric is the way to go. I'm catholic, but my interest in good hijab comes from pandemic germs, and a hijab/niqab to cover a face mask looks so much better than just a face mask. And, bad hair days! So the hat trick (if you're a hockey fan) is going to work great. No bun to get in the way! Thanks!👸🌺

extra tips for under top replacements: 1. if you can’t find breathable fabrics, i bought long sleeve crop tops and they really help for someone like me who overheats wearing 2-3 layers in winter :’) 2. wear oversized long sleeved shirts on top of your clothes to make sure you’ve got enough air flow, it also makes it less likely that your arms are visible even with semi transparent material depending on the size thank you so much for this video, i used to wear salwar kameez throughout summer but realised they weren’t great modesty wise and was struggling to figure out what to wear if my abayas aren’t available since i’m not a fan of western dresses

Leena, I took my Shahada 2 weeks ago. It has been extremely tough regarding clothes. I spend alot of time on a sailboat and doing yard work. It is super hot and sweaty work. Peace be upon you sister, so glad to hear you have converted to Islam. I am also a convert and struggled a lot with clothing in the beginning. If you manage to wear long loose pants and a t shirt or blouse that covers your chest at least you are already doing great as a new muslim in shaa Allah. Something to know as well: for older women (meaning after menopause) not seeking to get married anymore, it is said in the Quran that we are allowed to be less strict with covering, however it is best to keep the covering from before if possible. Please look up more on this yourself or ask a scholar/imam you’re interested to find out more and take any action with this knowledge on this as I’m just a fellow sister, not a person of knowledge. May Allah make it easy for you, much love!

Thank you for sharing! The summer is a very hard time for me to dress, so any tips are great 🥰🙌 I normally wear skirts and blouses, but I try to find and wear more dresses in the summer, so I don’t have more layers then needed, especially around the waist, since I always wears a backpack I don’t need more to get me hot. I find higher necklines at the kids section at the clothing stores, or at the men’s section. Since I am petite, I usually go’s for H&M’s kids section and the higher necklines there under either dresses or blouses. I find it hard to find dresses, and even when I find them, I often need something under. Many blouses now have higher necklines with a tie in the back, and a good tank from the same place cover my upper back. (I don’t wear the tops with very open back). If everything is okay with a top except for the neckline, a loose fabric of “cleavage cover up” attacks to your bra can be enough. I used them a lot before, very helpful. A hair tie around your wrist is great for collecting extra fabric if there are more wind then you thought about when going out, and you are wearing a flowy skirt or dress. Even if you are not cover, getting your hair away from your neck can really help with the feeling of not being to hot. I personally will go for more hot then taking a chance. I feel more well knowing that I don’t show more then I want to then gambling on not showing. That is just my personal preference. Just a little more fabric will not make me “die of heat”, but being uncomfortable can ruing a good experience. I wear a slip under my skirts, but no leggings except a shorter shorts underneath. The slip is nice, and comfortable, and makes me feel for comfortable too 😊 Thank you for sharing! Love and blessings from Johanne, Norway

I am also uncomfortable with this, but I have seen some people wear what we call a "salwar" in Pakistani culture, or wide-leg pants made from light material(hippy pants if you will)! You can pull the pants high enough that they aren't visible when the dress is down but covers your legs if the dress happens to come up

I wear a half slip under dresses. Some dresses come lined or have a slip attached, but you can still see through, or the material may be too thinI. So, a half slip is easy and comfortable to wear, they keep me cool, and you can’t see through the dresses! 🥰
