@Wiggimus I've been studying christianity for years now, and in all my research, I've never encountered any such teaching from christianity. In fact that's the exact opposite of what their official established doctrinal position on it is documented to be. Christian morality is based entirely on the fundamental presupposition that it's an objective moral truth that all men and women are created in the image of god and therefore have an inherent divinity within all of us. That's it. It's why human life is sacred and entitled to dignity and has intrinsic value. That says "ALL MEN AND WONEN"....and that covers everybody, so you're demonstrate incorrect about that.
@Wiggimus26 күн бұрын
@@gregsanich5183 I'm going to call you out on that because what you said is entirely untrue. There is absolutely no way that Christianity teaches what you claim that it teaches. The Christian bible makes it fully clear that women are "inherently lesser" than men. They're essentially property that can talk. It also teaches that certain people are meant to be owned as property that your kids can inherent. Also, there isn't a single passage that claims that "human life is sacred". The main deity ends people's lives on a constant basis throughout the entire book. Most of those people are less than the age of five who never once did anything wrong. So try again, except this time, don't lie to me.

If we were to adhere only to the Christian values of morality from the Bible we could keep slaves, and this is not a proposition that is acceptable to a secular society. My response to this video is not to criticise Christians, but to point out the flaws of having a society ruled by a strict adherence to religious text as Chad proposed. Secularism separates religious institutions from state institutions, proposes freedom to practice any religious beliefs as long as they do not harm others, with the concept that equality does not disadvantage any section of society. I thought that these ideals were the intention behind the American Constitution.
