I've been rocking one for two years mostly for trail running in the desert southwest where water is the most important thing I carry In a source or blackhawk 100 oz bladder. The problem I have with this a full bladder will bulge into the main compartment limiting the overall inner capacity for gear etc and it pushes everything towards the outer pocket making it almost impossible to carry anything except the smallest items. And my pistol is jammed in the hidden pocket very tightly which makes accessing the pistol very difficult.

great video, I'm so buying one of this for everyday carry. Thank you for taking the time to put this video together. By the way, could you please do a video review/ elevation integration of the Ares Armor compact XII pack with the HSP D3 CR??

Have you checked out the other packs? They seem to marketing the Assault models a lot. Thoughts?

I have both this and the Lightweight Assault Pack from Grey Ghost Gear and love them both. I actually did a seperate review on the L.A.P. a month or so before this one. You should check it out. The two packs are just different enough to make them both worthy purchases. Course this one is designed to be slightly more discrete then the L.A.P. but both have their distinct places in my setups.

Hows the weight distribution when the pistol is in there? When you walk around is it flopping around or can you not even tell its in there?
@witkidone10 жыл бұрын
***** The short answer is it doesnt flop much. To expand on that, the closer weight is to your center of gravity the less youll feel it flopping around so the ideal spot for a weapon in a pack would always be as close to your back as possible. That being said, this pack is fairly small and the teardrop like shape allows the weapon to hang fairly close to your back when the pack is empty so it really just feels like an empty pack. When you load it up, the items inside the main compartment push the weapon a little further from your back but the weight you added offsets that feeling and it still feels like a normal pack. Basically the shape of the pack and how the weapon sits in the concealed carry pocket keeps its weight pushing towards your back and therefore the weapon itself is fairly unnoticable most of the time. Of course if youre running and jumping and rolling and whatever else, youre gonna feel the pack flopping (as i think you would with any pack) but for the most part Grey Ghost Gear did a great job with the design of this pack to minimize the perceived weight of your stowed concealed weapon. Hope that helps.

Is this pack smaller than the 5.11 covert18?

which pack do you like the most between the stealth operator and the lightweight assault?

Tough to say as they fill different roles for me. The L.A.P. has what feels like a bit more room and easier access due to the dual zipper into the front area and lack of pouches in the main area. The S.O.P. has more preset pouches and areas to store small items and even a hidden pouch for a concealed pistol and mag but access to these is a bit tighter due to the single center zip into the front area. I tend to use the S.O.P. for everyday tasks and when i go on day trips etc. The L.A.P. is used more for tactical tasks like carrying extra items and med supplies when i go shooting or attaching to my plate carrier or HSP D3 chest rig. If i had to pick one pack to fill both roles id probably go with the L.A.P. but in the Litelok material to keep the weight as low as possible. Youll have to look at what you intend to use it for most often and make the call based on that.

whats a good, popular company that makes water bag for this pack
@witkidone9 жыл бұрын
Ty Delzer I THINK I MENTIONED IT IN THE VID BUT I ALWAYS GET THE SOURCE 3L STANDARD BLADDERS FOR THESE AND THEY WORK PERFECTLY. THEY HAVE A SMALL CUTOUT IN THE PLASTIC AT THE TOP SO YOU CAN WEAVE THE LITTLE DONGLE IN THE PACKS POUCH THROUGH IT TO HOLD IT UP PROPPER.

can you fit into a water bag? thanks the answer!
@witkidone10 жыл бұрын
spykehun If you mean can you run a water bladder in this pack, the answer is yes. It has a separate bladder pocket under the shoulder straps. The vid clearly shows this feature in case you wanna see it in more detail.
