Maybe it happens when they realize that they probably have a playable bingo, but aren't finding it quickly enough (in their opinion) which worries them, so they disconnect, which stops the clock. They have 3-4 minutes to find the bingo, with just a 10 second penalty on their clock.

Interesting point about the connection issues, I think you should ask someone you know to join you in a game and disconnect then reconnect to see if the tiles change, if the tiles change you could contact the developers so they could resolve the issue, I know you don't think there is anything untoward by the opponents because disconnection can happen, and a lot of people do not have great internet...also at the level you guys are playing at you will see most bingos straight away, I think you should look into it...if the tiles do change then you could improve the programme, if they don't then you have proven that the opponents disconnection was genuine.

Your opponents always seem more interested in doing clever parallel plays than scoring points.

parallel plays are usually among the best equity options as they score decently and generally allow for better rack leaves.

@@Daruudesin their defense, it puts serious pressure on David because he can’t contemplate his rack while his opponent runs their clock. By playing so quickly David ends up eating an additional minute or two per turn, forcing him to play weaker plays to prevent running out of time.

Does the software you're using mark you as "offline" when the window loses focus during a game? Could be people cheating -- opening up a word finder -- or doing something completely innocuous in a different window.

No, I think you lose contact or quit if you lose internet connection or choose to close the program. I don't think people are closing ISC to use anagram checkers because you could use one on another device or phone. The only advantage I can think of would be if your rack was different after losing connection but don't know if this ever occurs. I am not suggesting anything untoward happened in this game, was just giving stream of consciousness commentary

Everyone, if you want to increase your scrabble score listen to what this guy says! I was at 400 when I started and a year later I'm now at the 800-900 range and bingoing in most games!

Great to hear! The "equity play" is a simple but effective system for increasing the number of bingos. My problem is remembering the bingos when the tiles are on my rack!
