They aren't saints. If you read the word correctly and ask God for wisdom, ANYONE can heal the sick through the power of the Holy spirit. It goes way beyond just healing the sick, but also in deliverance.

Hello, you should read the lives of the Saints, about Saint Paisios

@@God__is__love I'm not saying they can't perform "mariacles", the glory is God's, not theirs! I've seen God work through average people like you and me. God can use ANYONE he chooses to do His work. just like ANYONE can recieve the gift of tongues. If you ask God to do His work through you, you are no Saint. You are merely a tool used by God to do His work. We should NOT hold these so called "saints" to such high regard. We put no man before the lord our God. If you put such men on a pedestal, that is called idolatry! God is a jealous God and no man comes before Him. Show me in the Bible where it says that we should worship such men or even better worship Marry! Your religion has lied to you in the name of Jesus. God bless you and I pray for your wisdom and understanding in truth.

You say you will pray for him. Do we not also ask our friends and family to pray for us? Do we not pray for departed loved ones? It is the same for the saints who dwell near God. We ask them for their assistance and their prayers. The ever-virgin Mary bore Christ our God. She is due great honor and respect as the birthgiver of our Saviour, and the mother of us all. Do you disrespect the parents God gave you? Show the same love for the Theotokos as you do your mother here on earth. Please research the history of Christianity brother. We have honored the saints for thousands of years. They are the "cloud of witnesses" in Hebrews 12. God bless.

@@bhudere I respect my Mother, but I do not place her on a pedestal. NO ONE comes before God the father. this is written and God makes this very clear. No where in the Bible does it tell us to give praises to Mary. Not even Jesus himself said so. This is dangerous ground when we place other people in such high regard. As for the saints, they're only "saints" because your church calls them that. People perform deliverance and other "miracles" with God working through them, do we call them saints? The glory belongs to God, not the person. Each and everyone of us can receive such gifts as these. Just ask with true belief. Just like speaking in tongues. Everyone can receive this gift. One just needs to truly believe. At the end of the day, we are no saints just because God can heal the sick or perform miracles through us. The Glory belongs to God only, Not to man. A great revelation is coming and we will all see the truth. Only one way to the father, that is through Christ himself and not the church.

@@The_Blessed_CowboyGlory to God. When an Orthodox Christian “prays to” a Saint, what we are really doing is asking that Saint to pray for us, to intercede before God for forgiveness of our sins and for our salvation. This is what the Church calls intercessory prayer. We are not devoting our lives to their service, for such worship and devotion belongs to God alone. Instead, we merely ask the Saint to pray for us, just as we would any other human being. The Scriptures themselves actively exhort us to do this for one another.
